The harvester LEXION, TUCANO, AVERO and DOMINATOR combine harvester models, plus JAGUAR forage harvesters and XERION 4x4 large tractors are manufactured at the plant on four assembly lines. 7

Exercise: International management, here: Strategy meeting Situation: Every year there is a strategy meeting for the BU Grain. This year it will take place in India with focus on Asia. The output of the strategy meeting will be the base for the 5-yearsbudget for the whole BU Grain and is therefore an important input/milestone to secure growth for CLAAS. The meeting goes over 5 days. In general there are 2 CEO from each factory plus some experts from product management, R+D, production and sales. Topic 1: a. You are responsible for the organization of the strategy meeting. Please work out an agenda considering the main topics needed for the preparation of the 5-years-budget later on. Please give a rough time indication (in 1/2 days), no details regarding timeline necessary. b. What are key success factors for growth in emerging markets from a production company s point of view? 11
