What is Benchmarking? The establishment and attainment (or nonattainment) of benchmark targets reveals a community s strengths and/or weaknesses Performance/nonperformance becomes self- evident 5

How To Use Benchmark targets should be used: as a key indicator of a community s continuous improvement As a method of communicating a community s accountability to key target audiences (e.g., senior management, Boards, staff) 6
