Getting Started (direct link to Lighthouse Community http://tinyurl.com/q5dg5wp) If you re already a member, click to login and see members only content. Use the same login ID that you use to register for NASBLA events or to access other NASBLA member areas. [Note that this is a different login than the one you use to access NASBLA Basecamp.] If you ve forgotten your password, click the Forgot your password? link. Enter your email address on the Retrieve your username and password screen. If your email address is in the NASBLA system, you ll receive an automatic response to that address and a temporary password (check your junk or bulk mail folder if it doesn t arrive in your inbox). Update your profile and reset your password after you log in to the system. If you are not already a member with a login ID and password, click on the Not a Member? Join Today! link on the NASBLA home page or go directly to http://nasbla.membershipsoftware.org/assoc_subscribe.asp. Non-members can register as Guests.
After you re logged in, click Join Community and you ll have full access to The NASBLA Lighthouse Community on Connect and access to the Library. While you re there, you may also update your Connect profile and look at the other communities listed in the Directory.
Lighthouse Library As a member of The NASBLA Lighthouse Community, you re welcome and invited to read and post materials in the Library to help you do your job better. Individual posters are ultimately responsible for the content they post in the Library. Before you post anything, make sure that you own the copyright or have permission of the owner if it applies. If you d like to read an item in the Library, start by clicking on the Library tab. Then you may do a search for a specific topic or see all the topics listed chronologically. To learn more details of the document, click on its name/title. To read the document, click on download either here or after you click on the title.
To load a document into the Library, first click on the Create a New Library Entry. Then put in a title and description for the entry, specify that it s for The NASBLA Lighthouse, explain what type of document or resource it is, and click Next.
Then select the file you want to upload by clicking Choose. When you select the correct file, click Upload File(s). Continues next page
Enter a file description, and then add your tags. This will allow other users to find your document with search words that aren t included in the file s name. The more specific the tag is, the more it may help others. At the bottom of this page, there are additional tags for the NASBLA Education Standards Panel and the Boating Education Advisory Panel. After you click Finish, your file will be listed within the community and available for members. Unlike the discussion forum, you can edit or delete the file if you d like. Continues next page
