1 Secure Share (Novell Filr) Remote Teacher Video Sharing Process School Year UTHealth Secure Share (Novell Filr) is a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) compliant online system which allows safe transfer and storage of student level data. The following steps outline how Texas School Ready! (TSR) Remote Teachers will send and receive videos to and from their TSR Remote Coach through Secure Share folders. Step 1: Registration and Confirmation In order to access your Secure Share Remote Folder created by your TSR coach, you must register with Secure Share. If you have already registered with Secure Share for another TSR process, such as Roster Collection, skip to Step 2. It is strongly recommended that you use Google Chrome as your browser for this process. 1. Once complete, click the Register button. You will receive the following confirmation: 4. Next, return to your inbox. If you do not see the Confirmation in our inbox after registering, check your Junk or Spam folder in your . 4 Step 2: Streaming and Downloading Coach Videos 1. In your Secure Share Remote Teacher Folder, click once on the title of your coach s feedback video. The video will automatically begin playing in a new browser tab. You can pause the video, adjust the sound of the video, and make the video full screen through this player. 2. To download the coach video, position your mouse over the video and then tap on the netbook track pad rightclick button. A popup drop down will appear. Select Save video as from the list. 3. In the Save As window click on Desktop on the left and then locate and double click your Remote Coaching Videos folder on the right. 4 P a g e

5 4. Once your Remote Coaching Videos folder is open in the Save As window, click the Save button. 5 P a g e

6 The video will begin downloading at the bottom of your browser window. Once the progress bar is complete the video will be downloaded and saved to your Remote Coaching Videos folder on the desktop of your netbook. It is recommended that Remote Teachers download all of their coach s feedback videos. The Secure Share (Novell Filr) Remote folder has a size limit. Your coach will remove old video files as new ones need to be added. Saving a copy of your coach s video files to your computer will allow you to review them at any time. 6 P a g e

7 Step 3: Uploading Remote Teacher Videos 1. In your Secure Share Remote Teacher Folder, click the Add Files button. 2. Either drag and drop the video file(s) from your computer s folder into the blue box area or click the Browse button to search your computer for the file(s). It is recommended that you only attempt to upload 1 video file at a time. The video file will automatically upload to the folder. Contact your Remote TSR Coach to let them know you have uploaded a Remote Video file to your Secure Share folder. 8 Additional Information How to Reset your Secure Share (Novell Filr) Password If you misplace your Secure Share password you can reset your password by 1. Type the following link into your browser to go directly to the Secure Share login page: 2. On the Secure Share login page, click on the Forgot your password? link. 3. In the Forgot Your Password? box, type in your address and click the OK button. 4. When you receive the pop-up message An has been sent.
