Santa Maria College A Ministry of Mercy Education Ltd Transport & Bus Information as at October 2014 Below is the current summary of the transport services to Santa Maria College. Any changes will be placed on the CONEQT P, in the College Newsletter and also in the Daily Memo next year. General Cawston Road: This drop off area is for Years 5, 6, and 7 without sisters in Years 8 12. There will be staff on duty before and after school to supervise. Please see attached map. Figure 8: If you are dropping off or picking up students, please enter the gate at the bottom of the Figure 8 off Stoneham Road. Students should be picked up and dropped off as close to the Chapel (western end) at the top of the Figure 8. There will be staff on duty before and after school to supervise. Please be aware that the entry into Santa Maria College next to the Boarding School off Stoneham Road is not to be used. This entry is for College buses, maintenance vehicles and Boarding staff. Walking Pedestrian access gates to the College are in Moreing Road and Cawston Road. Bicycles Bicycle racks are available on the southern side of the Doyle buildings and also near the Year 7 classrooms. Students are asked to provide their own locks. Buses All bus services operate from Moreing Road. Santa Maria College has the following bus services operating to and from the College. Transperth Transperth operates school specials and the 158 from Perth & Fremantle with a deviation to Santa Maria College. Information about Transperth services is also available on their website click here. Bus connections from a number of train stations connect to the Booragoon Bus Station. The 158 from Perth in the morning also stops at Canning Bridge Transfer Station. The afternoon service does not stop there. Further information concerning these services is given in the following pages. Please note, all information is accurate at time of printing.

SOUTH PERTH and MANNING BUS ROUTES (RUN BY BUSWEST) The bus routes are described below. In the afternoon, buses leave Santa Maria College at 3.35 pm from Moreing Road. The return route is via the morning route in reverse. (Please note that the bus will never run early. Due to traffic conditions it may at times be slightly late but a bus will always arrive.) Tickets for the bus service need to be purchased before hand as the bus driver will not be handling cash. These tickets can be purchased from Student Reception during College hours. Cost of a one way ticket will be $2.50 Details of bulk buying is on the next page. Tickets can be purchased initially in lots ten and can be used over a long period of time. Students are asked initially to use current TransPerth bus stops where available on the route and to hail the bus. South Perth & Manning Buses Bulk Purchase of Tickets After discussion with students catching either of these buses it was suggested to offer the opportunity for the bulk purchase of tickets instead of a Term or Semester pass, as students catching the bus varies considerably from week to week. Tickets purchased do not have an expiry date but cannot be replaced if lost. Tickets for 50 or 100 tickets can be purchased at the Finance Office, next to Main Reception in the McAuley Building. Parents can: Visit Finance and pay over the counter, or Ring the Finance Office on 6330 0234 and give credit details over the phone. The Finance Office will then email Student Reception. BUS SERVICES Student Travel Permit Santa Maria College students are issued with a SmartRider Card. This card must be shown to the bus driver as they board the bus, whether it is a school special or not. These permits are issued free through the College during the first few weeks of Term One. Student Behaviour A high standard of behaviour is expected of each student at all times when representing the College or wearing the College uniform. Common courtesy and good manners are required when travelling on buses. Route 509 departs Bungaree Rd near Leach Hwy at 7.32 am, arriving Bull Creek Station at 7.55 am. Route 509 operates over the following route From bus stop number 20130 in Bungaree Rd after Leach Hwy, via Bungaree Rd, right Fern Rd/ Barbican St East, left Marjorie Av, left Tribute St East, right Riverton Dr East, right Riley Rd, right High Rd, left Leach Hwy into Bull Creek Station. Students wishing to access Rossmoyne and Shelley should transfer to the 170 service (departing Bull Creek Station at 4.21pm from stand 9). Students wishing to access Vahland Av between Apsley Rd and High Rd should transfer to the 508 (departing Bull Creek Station at 4.15pm from stand 7). Students wishing to access High Rd between Leach Hwy and Riley Rd, Riley Rd or Riverton Dr East should transfer to the 509 (departing Bull Creek Station at 4.20pm from stand 6).
