Front-line construction supervisors provide the first line of defense in managing safety issues, communicating organizational priorities and values, and building relationships with individual team members to get the job done. They are the faces of our companies. They are also the people who can make or break any contractor s safety program. This course will assist first-line supervisors in building and sustaining a positive and effective safety culture by showing them how to influence employees to make wise decisions, perform tasks safely, and to work toward prevention through a culture response. Generational and cultural diversity, employee engagement, coaching, and team building are just a few of today s workforce issues that will be covered. The training integrates the nine best practices considered high-impact, zero-injury techniques (Pignoet, 2003) and demonstrates how these practices can be visualized and implemented by first-line supervisors. LIFE SAFETY LS 101 Life Safety Code Concept 32 Hours $695 Contract $10,000 This course provides training and application of the concepts of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requirements that protect people, property, and equipment.the course covers a host of topics in Chapters 1 through 10 related to reducing the spread of fire in buildings and providing means of safe egress from buildings when necessary. The code includes different requirements for different types of occupancies/buildings such as warehouses, hangars, industrial buildings, assembly buildings, hotels, homes, and hospitals. Case studies and exercises will be used to convey the concepts behind the code and its relationship to OSHA and Building Code requirements. Attendees will receive a copy of the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code. This course is designed for building managers, facility engineers, safety and health professionals, engineers, architects, building owners, and insurers. Aug 25-28, 2015 Sep 15-18, 2015 Oct 13-16, 2015 Nov 3-6, 2015 Jan 12-15, 2016 May 3-6, 2016 LS 102 Life Safety for Assembly and Education Monmouth County, NJ X 24 Hours Contract $7,000 This course builds upon the material covered in the LS 101 Course on the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requirements. Participants will receive training on the application of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requirements to specific building use based upon the occupancy classification system for Assembly Occupancies. Fires in assembly occupancies have been some of the most deadly when the prescribed features, systems, and construction materials were not present. NFPA code provisions mandate that a considerable number of safety systems and features be present in order to keep everyone safe should an unwanted fire occur. The level of safety provided is not the result of any single safety system or feature, but rather is achieved through the combination of multiple safeguards.
