The IKM Group 2014
2014 - A challenging year Hi, everyone! 2013 did not turn out as many of us had expected. We hoped and believed that everyone in the whole industry would have full order books at the start of 2014, but unfortunately, this was not the case. All the major development contracts were awarded to foreign contractors. This is very disappointing and a big setback for parts of the supplier industry involved in field development. This also means thinned down order books and unfortunately, some laid-off employees. This situation will continue in 2014, but fortunately, we have other markets in our industry, such as operations and maintenance, drilling, well testing and not least, subsea and subsea engineering. Activity is much better here and therefore, there is full activity in most of the companies in IKM. However, there were also many highlights in 2013, such as: IKM Consultants AS was awarded a major, global framework agreement with Statoil IKM Operations AS was awarded 2 major contracts with Total on Martin Linge IKM Cleandrill AS was given its first job with its newly developed equipment, which was performed with great success! IKM Subsea AS was awarded its first contract for Statoil IKM Kran & løfteteknikk AS and IKM Service AS completed a successful merger IKM Mekaniske AS moved to Hillevåg IKM Euroheat AS was established IKM Testing AS was established in Poland and Korea IKM NTS AS was established and got full order books IKM Consultants AS acquires Poseidon Consulting Services These are just a few of the positive events last year, and I am also pleased to inform that, despite the slump in orders, we look set to deliver around MNOK 400 of EBITDA. In future, we in IKM Gruppen must work on several important matters at the same time. These will be: Filling up the order books in all the companies Very careful spending, i.e., we must increase our focus on correct spending. We need to think outside the box and look for better work methods and cheaper solutions Correct use of time, because time is money. Everyone can make a good contribution here. If everyone takes a critical look at their tasks, and sees / considers the best option, I am sure we will find solutions that are smarter than those we have today. I would like to finish off by saying that despite a few clouds on the horizon, I am an optimist. We are a good team (and a feared competitor) and will continue to grow and as such, are where we should be!
HSE Policy Zero injuries is our overall objective. We shall instil trust and confidence among our customers and employees. We shall follow acts and regulations, including ethic code of conduct. HSE is the most important internal work area. No operation has priority over safety. HSE is a line responsibility in the entire organisation. Everyone is responsible for their own safety and the safety of others. We shall prevent pollution and reduce negative environmental impact. We shall reduce wastage and optimise the use of resources. We will achieve this through continuous improvement of all processes and systems established in each organisation. Together with our clients and suppliers we shall follow statutory regulations and continually improve our procedures and routines in environmental management. We believe that social commitment will result in savings for our clients, and new business possibilities for the IKM Group. Each IKM company shall establish its own objectives in order to live up to the IKM Group s overall policy. Zero injuries - an overall objective
