Looking for The Heroes of Tomorrow Talented young cyclists will get the opportunity to compete on the same 8,4km circuit as the professional riders during the last stage of the Arctic Race Of Norway. In addition to seven regional teams from Norway, there will also be participants from three International regional teams this year. Talented riders from the UK, Russia and Finland will compete against the young Norwegians in the Arctic Heroes of Tomorrow Race in Tromsø on the 17 th of August. The competition starts with the junior mens race at 09:30, finishing at approximately 12:30. Prizes Prizes for the top three riders in each class. Awarded at the victory podium right after the finish. 1. place kr. 2 000 2. place kr. 1 000 3. place kr. 5000 Prizes for best regional team. Awarded during the Arctic Race of Norway official victory ceremony. Based on the points of the three best boys and two best girls. 1. place kr. 30 000 2. place kr. 20 000 3. place kr. 10 000 Team prizes are to be used for youth development in the region and shall be reported on to NCF. After race completion riders will receive points towards their placing on the result list. When a rider is removed from the race by a commissioner, the rider will be placed in reverse order on the result list. The first rider removed will receive last placing on the result list. Norway's best known cyclist, previous world champion and stage winner from Tour De France, Thor Husvold is named as ambassador for Statoils sponsorship program Heroes of tomorrow. Husvold will be an ambassador for Statoils Talent Initiative alongside Kjetil Andre Aamodt, Brede Hangeland og Leif Ove Andsnes. During this summer s Arctic Race Of Norway Thor will be an important ambassador for the talented young people who will cycle on the same circuit as the professionals in Tromsø Sundag 17 August 2014.
