I live in an awesome dorm with a great dorm mom The curfew in the dorm so its not loud all the time Mr. Phillips bio class. He s the best teacher I ve ever had. Blinn College Student Likes The food is good College Park apartments, cleanliness Exceptional music program Service department is awesome Small classes I love the music program here. I know that students from 5A schools may not be impressed, but this is the hardest I ve ever had to work for music and I love it. I like the atmosphere at Blinn. It s friendly and homey. I like the student to teacher ratio. It makes everything more personal I enjoy living in Melcher. It s so nice. My lesson teacher prepares me specifically for my career path and where I m going. Blinn College Student Likes Food Teachers are more personal and really help you succeed I like how you can tell the ladies in the Business office that you have a real problem and they are more than happy to help I like all the student activities I like the dorms Easy access to all the buildings The faculty is nice The professors that I have had have all been really nice and made the class interesting The dorm I m in is really nice (Melcher) we kept not nasty I like the smaller community. I like the privacy of our rooms. Blinn College Student Dislikes Brenham Student Focus Group-Fall 2008 Nothing is open on weekends No library access on Saturday BORIS not consistent No bike racks Attendance policy/drop policy Temperature control sucks No pool Must pay at least $725 for meal plan Every building closes by 10:00 PM Can't download torrent files on campus wi-fi No X-country team Horridly slow internet in dorms Bad cable Breakfast ends too early Dorm is so far from everything (KA) Curfew seems unneeded Need pics/virtual tour of dorm online In KA dorm- we should have our own desks No public restroom in dorm Sprinklers on bike racks ( rust) Need more bike racks Only select times for classes They don't tell you your roommate in advance Not a big variety of healthy foods to go Not enough washers and dryers Cafeteria prices outrageous No swimming pool Not enough bike racks Nothing open on weekends Some dorms are way too old Wifi would be nice Forced to pay for meal plan No public restroom in male dorm (KA) There needs to be healthier foods in the Cove There needs to be housing with social gathering place I don't like the library and everything closing at 9 Lack of wifi in dorms
Blinn College Student Dislikes The lag on internet in dorms. I had a homework assignment that required watching a video and I couldn't do that in my room because of the internet. Nothing open on the weekends. Messes up our homework schedules There needs to be compatability matches for roommates Student center close times, we are college students and we don't go to sleep at 9 every night Internest in CP apartments doesn't allow certain programs to work properly Lack of room in the band hall to practice and store intruments I think that since most four year universities have only co-ed dorms, Blinn should consider this as well. Or at least longer visitation hours. The cafeteria is not open during the weekends The library closes at 9, which is too soon, and it is also closed on the weekends, but late night and weekends is when the most students do their homework. Blinn College Student Dislikes Apartments, we are in the college, the freedom to do what we want where we are living Nothing is open on weekends, Library or computer labs Visitor Restrooms in dorms Needs to be longer visitation hours, if not 24 hours There is nowhere to go to hang out with your friends after the student center or anywhere else closes The parking is horrible! It is hit or miss if you get a parking space No visitors of the opposite sex in the dorm No wi-fi in the lobby areas or study areas. Needs to be a few more sport options Nothing is open on the weekends More variety of food There is no public restrooms in the dorms for guests Need more clubs such as photography Need a student homepage
