2 ALOHA. Aloha and thank you for your interest in the Atherton YMCA. The YMCA of Honolulu - Atherton Branch provides student housing, fitness memberships, and enrichment programs. The YMCA has been a part of the Manoa and east Honolulu community since Our property and two buildings, the Charles H. Atherton residence hall and the Mary Atherton Richards program center, were both generously donated to the YMCA. The donation by the Atherton Family provided the YMCA with space to serve the University of Hawaii, other area colleges and universities with housing and purposeful programming. Located at 1810 and 1820 University Avenue, the Atherton Branch is located just a few steps away from the University of Hawai i Manoa and within short distances of many other higher education institutions. YMCA participants, residents, fitness members, volunteers, and staff are from all parts of Hawaii, the United States, and other countries arround the world. The YMCA encourages its diverse global family to work together to create an environment that makes the Atherton Branch a unique place to experience a healthy lifestyle in Hawaii. Students are encouraged to participate in activities during their academic careers. Common areas are interactive by design to make living at Atherton more than just four walls and a roof. 5 MARY ATHERTON RICHARDS HOUSE The Mary Atherton Richards House has air conditioned rooms for men (5 singles, 1 double) on the second floor. The first floor has facilities for group exercise, program offices, and Coffeeline coffeehouse. + Air conditioned lounge with cable TV + Air conditioned rooms furnished with twin bed, dresser, desk, chair, and closet + Shared restroom and shower facilities (individual stalls) + Shared kitchenette with microwave and range + Internet access (wired in residence rooms) + Coffeeline coffeehouse The Atherton YMCA isn t just a place to sleep or study, it s become a second home to me and everyone else who has lived there. I ve gotten opportunities that I never would have imagined, let alone would have received if I had lived in a dorm or apartment.
