4 Introduction The purpose of this document is to set out in detail what will be delivered as part of the web design and development project. 5 Project Overview To design and develop new responsive website theme which can be used across all of Cocoon Vehicles websites and deployed to new ones in the future. Wordpress Multisite functionality is going to be taken advantage of to bring control of each of the sites into one place. Some of the advantages of this this will be an increase in the speed of car data upload, a reduction of the risk of problems occurring due to change and a reduction the duplication of maintenance. 6 Deliverables Wireframes, Design & Build The following wireframes will be produced for these pages. These are the skeletal framework of the pages which the design will be laid upon top of. Home About Testimonials News Archive News Article Car List Car Details Apply Online Contact Us Default Page Template Once the wireframes are completed and agreed the designs will be created based upon the layouts of the agreed wireframes. Once the designs have been agreed the website will be built on a http://cocoonleasing.nospariobeta.co.uk domain so that it can be viewed and tested by the client. The website will be built with a Content Management System (CMS) in place which will give a website administrator the ability to manage the content of the website easily. Wordpress Multisite Wordpress Multisite will be used for this new collection of websites. Giving the ability for all current and future websites to be controlled from one centralised location. Initially the cocoonvehicles.co.uk website will be moved to the new Multisite platform with the remaining websites being moved over periodically as part of the Website Support Contract. CSV Data Uploads The functionality will be built in so that when the remaining website are moved to the Multisite platform they will read the car data from the one database. In the meantime the current CSV data upload will remain the same with the exception of the cocoonvehicles.com data, this will be uploaded to the new Multisite database. When the remaining websites are moved over they will be set up at that point to use the Multisite database. XML Data Feed Personal and Business long term offer details will be included on the chosen websites by the regular import of an XML Data Feed. Long Term Offers There will be the ability to manually add Long Term Offers to each of the websites using custom post types. Shortcode Functionality
The ability to set up new shortcodes with related values in the WP admin which can be used within the content of the CSV uploads. Functionality Included Search all text stored in the database using the CMS will be indexed so it is included in the search Social Media Sharing buttons will be positioned on pages to make it easy for visitors to share the pages content via their social media accounts. When shared an optimised title, excerpt and image will be used from the page. Image Lightbox When visitors to the website click on images of the cars they will be displayed in what is known as a Lightbox. This is where the image is displayed larger and the background becomes darker. The visitor can scroll through the images. Content filters - ability to filter the blogs by selecting the categories to be displayed. Email list signup - linked to Email Marketing platform (Mailchimp) Widgets All of the widgets will be built into the theme and be configured so that they are associated with the specific section of the website they are displaying on, i.e. Long Term, Short Term etc. so that they display the relevant information dependant on the page they are on. Logo upload Colour selection For each new site you will be able to upload a logo and select 2 colours for the text, buttons and background. New Website Set Up
The ability to set up new websites will be included. For example you can register a new domain and point this to a new website you have set up in the Multisite admin. Responsive Design The website will be designed and built so that the layout will alter to fit the screen size being used to view it, i.e. Smartphones & Tablets. Website Speed On average the website pages will load in 4 seconds or less. The website s files will be minified prior to being severed to the users browser Server side caching will also be put in place to reduce the regular calls to the database Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) The following will be put in place for your website as part of the build. Creation of unique, descriptive and accurate page titles Creation of meta description for each page Ensuring page URLs are simple and easy to understand Using heading tags appropriately Ensuring search engines can crawl the site to index it correctly using a robot.txt file Sitemap map creation and submission to the 3 major search engines, Google, Bing & Yahoo Analytics Google Analytics will be set up on your websites and you will be given access to the reports so that you can track visitor behaviour and trends. Browser Compatibility Our websites and web applications are tested and optimized for all modern web browsers including, but not limited to the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome and the latest 3 versions of Internet Explorer. We also test across the major mobile devices. Although we strive to provide absolute cross-browser compatibility, it is impossible to compensate for the lack of web standards support in some browsers. The website will be written to take full advantage of all the modern approaches, ensuring that the website validates to W3C standards. Website Monitoring
The websites will be included on our website monitor systems which checks to see the health of a website every 5 minutes. If any problem is identified we are notified by email, text message and an alert on our smartphones. Make Live Once the website has been fully tested and it is agreed that the website has been built to required specification we will move the website to the live hosting and domain. 7 Documentation and Training Online documentation will be provided so that you are able to easily administer your website.
