6 55 st james s street EPR Architects has designed 55 St James s Street as a refined new bespoke office and residential development, embracing the context of the wider St James s Conservation Area. The principal office entrance on St James s Street is defined by imposing oak double doors, designed by artist Sarah Kay to create a sense of arrival to the building. The doors resemble the lapels on a gentleman s blazer, a reference to both the gentlemen s clubs characteristic of the history of St James s and the famous gentlemen s outfitters of Jermyn Street. The oak doors will open to reveal a screen printed ceramic enamel glass entrance designed by world renowed artist Martin Donlan depicting historic maps of St James s and references to royalty born in the area. 08
