9 4. CLIENT EXAMPLES Intel Website Re-design Intel's Open Source Technology Center (OTC) is home to the core of Intel's open source development efforts. The 01.org website is intended to create a consistent web and online community experience for developers on all Intel s open source projects that they lead and contribute to. Appnovation provided Drupal consulting services for a complete redesign of 01.org and the related subsites to help Intel's OTC increase developer participation in their projects and online communities through the mailing lists and exposure on these sites. Samsung Website Development Appnovation Technologies assisted Samsung with the development of their Samsung KNOX project. The KNOX Container allows companies to ensure that work files and applications are segregated from personal ones on employee mobile devices. Highlights of the project included: Implementing a Drupal-based architecture to support web publishing, and user management; Implementing caching layers (Drupal, Memcached, Varnish, Amazon CloudFront CDN); Drupal site performance optimization; Integration with existing systems by passing user and company parameters from Drupal; Making the site multilingual; and, adding single sign-on across 4 services. New York City Department of Transportation Responsive Designed POC Appnovation worked with the New York City - Department of Transportation to deliver a fully responsive, retina display compatible proof-of-concept (POC) built on the Drupal platform. The design concept was inspired by walking the streets of New York City. In such a complex and busy environment, people rely on simple, painted & chipped away signage on roadways to maneuver safely from A to B. Road signage is globally recognized, and a proven-to-work system that simplifies complex process flows across a wide spectrum of demographics. 10 Cargoh Drupal E-commerce Site Appnovation developed a custom marketplace for global independent artists to buy and sell their creations with e-commerce and community functionalities. The site needed to be multi-faceted in order to effectively showcase the different categories of work available. Appnovation created the site using a combination of custom and contributed Drupal modules. Sellers are able to create their own custom storefronts using image and music uploads, they can integrate their individual Twitter feeds and sign in using Facebook Connect. Products and stores are promoted to the front page by using the Voting module as other users like or "fistbump" those items. Users are able to contact each other via a built in internal messaging system. The site integrates Ubercart, Beanstream and PayPal for the e-commerce component. Reebok Mobile Multilingual Promotional Site For the launch of their "Reethym" product line Reebok wanted to create a site that could be sent around as a promotion to customers. Using Drupal, Appnovation created a mobile viewing site embedding the Reebok promotional YouTube video. Hosted on the Acquia Dev Cloud, the mobile site is multilingual and adapts the language according to region by detecting the viewer's IP address. NBC Universal New Website for HOLAMUN2 Property HolaMun2 had grown out of its existing WordPress based website and required development of a new website with a more robust community framework. The website acts as a point of contact for viewers to learn more about upcoming shows. It also allows fans to share information with the TV station. Appnovation helped NBC Universal with the development of the site in Drupal. Working in conjunction with the NBC technology team, the website was developed over a three month period.
