1 Documentation OpenScape Office V3 OpenScape Office MX V2 Linking to MS Exchange Server 2010

2 The following steps describe how to connect an OpenScape Office MX V2 or MX/LX V3 system to a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 to use the following OpenScape Office MX/LX functions: Calendar Integration Public Folder Contacts search Send mails from OpenScape Office MX/LX to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Preconditions: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 with installed Service Pack 1 Outlook Web Access (OWA) in use Public Folder Contacts in use Users with mail-addresses assigned in use Notes: Test was done with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 (64 bit). In this example the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 has the following IP-address: Please change the IP-address to match customer s environment settings. The user OOMX is used in this example as Service Account with the role privilege for ApplicationImpersonation which is used to give the OpenScape Office MX V2 or MX/LX V3 access to the mailbox database of the Microsoft Exchange Server This user has to be added to your Active Directory. It requires also a configured mail-address. 04/2011 v1.0 page 2 of 9

3 Perform these steps to grant OpenScape Office MX V2 or MX/LX V3 access to MS Exchange 2010: Add the user OOMX to your Active Directory and assign a valid mail-address. E.g.: [email protected]. Check / Add the Basic Authentication and Windows Authentication in the Webserver (IIS) role services settings: 04/2011 v1.0 page 3 of 9

4 In Webserver (IIS) configuration navigate to Servername Sites Default Web Site EWS, set Authentication with a right click Windows Authentication, select Providers, add NTLM provider and apply these changes: 04/2011 v1.0 page 4 of 9

5 In Microsoft Exchange management shell enter the following command line: New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Name:impersonationAssignmentName -Role:ApplicationImpersonation -User:OOMX Syntax description: New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Name:impersonationAssignmentName -Role:ApplicationImpersonation -User: [privileged user] Note: It might take a couple of minutes until Exchange configuration modifications are active for the configured user OOMX. 04/2011 v1.0 page 5 of 9

6 In the OpenScape Office MX/LX Assistant please navigate to Expert Mode Application Suite OpenScape Office Server Exchange Assign the Exchange Server configuration as shown in the example below according to customer s environment settings: Server URL: User name: Password: [email protected] OOMX user password Syntax description: Server URL: User name: Password: Privileged user set in Active Directory@domainname Privileged user password set in Active Directory These changes will enable access of the OpenScape Office MX/LX to the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 for the Exchange Calendar Integration and the Exchange Public Folder Contacts search. 04/2011 v1.0 page 6 of 9

7 The following configuration will enable the mail-access from OpenScape Office MX/LX to Microsoft Exchange Server In OpenScape Office MX/LX Assistant please navigate to: Service Center Forwarding Assign the Exchange Server configuration as shown in the example below according to customer s environment settings: Finally OpenScape Office client settings must be configured. In the OpenScape Office client setup of myportal or myportal for Outlook please navigate to Personal Details and add the users Address if necessary: In the OpenScape Office client setup of myportal or myportal for Outlook please navigate to Program Settings. Activate Exchange Calendar Integration and select Exchange PST. The OpenScape Office client will now add new appointments to the Exchange calendar for the Calendar Integration feature. 04/2011 v1.0 page 7 of 9

8 Further details for the usage of the Exchange Calendar Integration feature in the OpenScape Office clients can be found in the manual of the OpenScape Office clients itself. Important note: Sporadically the Calendar Integration Feature does not get in service automatically after initial configuration. A reset of the OpenScape Office MX/LX OSO application will force a proper reconnect and might solve this problem. Please navigate in the OpenScape Office MX/LX Assistant to: Service Center Restart/Reload Restart Application Please wait until the OSO application is started up again. In very few cases also the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 needs a restart to update the configuration. 04/2011 v1.0 page 8 of 9
