2 BACKGROUND of TRIAL MOM is studying how employers can use Fleet Management Systems (FMS) as a potential technology-aided solution to improve safety performance, improve productivity and reduce the costs of operations. The aim of the trial is to assess if FMS is a feasible and cost-effective solution for local fleet operators to better manage their drivers safety. Companies adopting the system will benefit from improving the safety of their fleet to the increase in productivity by understanding the driver s driving related behaviours. With the driver s daily on the road information collected, companies can offer a consultancy and incentives program to encourage better overall driving behaviour which results in road safety awareness.

3 Key Trial Features What is the difference between an ifmsand a GPS Tracking System? Connecting World Trade Intelligent Driver Safety Analysis System (idsas) is an enhanced Fleet Management System with the ability to convert on-board vehicles electronic data into point system referred to as SCORE. idsas also integrates Video-on-the-Road to gives the operator Live and Recorded information which is tagged to events happening on the road. Purpose of idsas? The system collects information on the road like Speeding, Sudden Lane change, Sudden Brake, Sudden Speeding, Idling, etc. Which in turn translates into a simple to read point system to measure driving behaviour. 6 System Overview SCORE System The SCORE Parameters provide Fleet Manager (FM) a tool to assess how driver behaves ontheroad. Every vehicle is given a SCORE weight of 100%, any violation of driving patterns will reduce the weight of the violation subject to the SCORE Parameter Rules. Event Video provides the FM with useful information / evidence to analyse the impact of environmental factors on the driving behaviours or incidents. Improved Safety as it allows Fleet Managers to work on individual counseling or re-training programmes as the system provides common types of violation of each individual drivers. Provide useful reports so as the Management can have an overview of their drivers driving performances through the SCORE card system.
