9 Recommended Online Magazines dezeen.com bdonline.com SUMMER PROJECT A. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and the picture you first present says a lot about you to the people you are meeting. As a fresher here at AUB you are starting out on a three year journey where you are expected to change, develop and grow as a young designer. This exercise is about the start, about who you are now, and what makes you, you. You are about to introduce yourself at the very start. Be creative, be unique, but be true to yourself. Your introduction should last 2-3minutes and can be created and delivered in any way you feel best reflects you. This could be anything from a short talk, an image or slide show, PowerPoint presentation, short film, piece of music and description, model, presentation board, etc. You can choose to give a simple explanation on why you have chosen IAD at AUB, or you can show us what inspires/drives you, or give us a glimpse into your world and intrigue us. B. As an introduction to your new course, we want you to complete a project to present to your colleagues and staff. You have been asked to create a scale model of a proposed development for your own studio space. There are remits to this and must be adhered to: A physical model at a scale of 1:10 The space can be as big or small as you like (but consider the practicalities of moving and storing the work) Made from a variety of medium. We encourage a range of material options not limited to card, mount board and wood; but we ban others (No Glitter or TinFoil!) A sample board to accompany the model, showing sketches of the space in use, materials chosen, lighting options etc. We look forward to the presentations.
