Please ensure that the following are submitted with this application form: Transcript of all college and graduate work Statement of purpose to study economics (150 to 200 words) Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (to be sent directly by the recommender) Diploma or equivalent documents certifying that the applicant has completed a Bachelor s degree Processing fee of Php 500 (US$ 20 for foreign applicants) Certification of score obtained in a standard language test (IELTS, TOEFL or the English Validation Test administered by the UP Department of English and Comparative Literature). The minimum required scores are 7.5 in IELTS and 600 in TOEFL (250 in computer-based test). The passing of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or its equivalent is required. Results of the examination should be forwarded directly to the Director for Graduate Admissions and Fellowships Committee, School of Economics, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines 1101 by the agency administering such examination. For foreign applicants without fellowship assistance, a certification from a reputable bank in their country about their capability to finance the travel, education, personal and other expenses they expect to incur while studying in the Philippines.
