6 I Overview As a new generation of visual information recorder and propagation equipment, REACH CL4000 Series Media Master is developed by SZ Reach Tech Co., Ltd. for recording and streaming meetings for large and medium-sized organizations. Its modular design allows up to 4 modules to be put into the unit. It supports the recording, live streaming and VOD of 4 ways visual signals in free combinations. There are optional SD module, VGA module, HD DVI module, HD SDI module, decoding module for users to configure flexibly according to their needs (please refer to the of Decoder for details). Different modules can realize different functions, such as the recording, live streaming, VOD, multithread mode saving, local preview and local playback of signals in free combinations. These signals include SD video signals (such as composite video), VGA, HD video signals (such as aberration, DVI, HDMI and HD-SDI) and one-way audio signal. The structure of CL4000 is 1U and 19-inch, which is applicable for engineering use. The system supports switching between the PowoLive and BeyondSys platforms, so that users can choose or transfer the business according to the applications. As a highly flexible recording and streaming business platform, CL4000 is configurable, expandable and movable, satisfying the needs for recording and streaming the visual information in meeting, training and teaching of large and medium-sized organizations. The BeyonSys platform supports multiple operating systems (such as Windows OS and Mac OS) and multiple browsers (such as Internet Explorer, Safari and Chrome). Adopted the play buffer mode, it is applicable for WAN, supporting synchronous recording, live streaming and VOD of up to 3 pictures, as well as image index and online editing. The PowoLive platform supports RecPlayer, 1080p@60Hz video, and synchronous recording, live streaming and VOD of up to 6 pictures. The live streaming delay is less than 0.5s and is applicable for LAN. This manual introduces the CL4000 series using PowoLive platform. 9 2.2 Connect Cables 1. Put the device at the even and flat position. 2. Connect the SD video source, HD video source or computer signal source to the corresponding module input ports with the corresponding video cables according to the actual modular configuration of the device. To loop out the signals, connect the device loop out port to the display equipment or matrix with the corresponding video cables. 3. Connect the audio source to the audio input port Line In with the stereo audio cable. If there is microphone input, connect the microphone cable to the port Mic In. 4. To control the camera PTZ, connect the camera PTZ control port with the device serial port with the serial port cable. 5. Connect the network cable to the device s network port, so that the device will be connected to the network planned by the network administrator. 6. Connect the power of adaptor to the power interface and plug the adaptor to the power socket. III Get Started 3.1 Startup and Shutdown Before starting up the device, please make sure that the cables are properly connected, and then turn on the power switch on the rear panel of the device. The power LED of the device will be constantly ON after the device starts up. The hard disk LED will flash constantly and quickly until the startup completes. Before shutting down the device, please make sure that the device has stopped recording and that the parameters have been saved. Then turn off the power switch on the rear panel of the device, thus protecting the hard disk and preventing data loss. Copyright SZ Reach Tech Co., Ltd. 9 / 46
10 3.2 LCD Panel After the device starts up, some information about the device s status will be displayed on the LCD panel, such as the operating status, equipment model, IP address, subnet mask and gateway, etc.. The device model will be displayed as CL4000xxxxxx, and the IP address, subnet mask and gateway will be displayed in turn as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. 3.3 Buttons on the Front Panel The users can use the buttons on the front panel to control the quick record, after the device runs normally. The button s LED indicates the current operating status of the device. Mute button: The LED is off by default. It will be ON after the button is pressed, indicating that the sound is disabled during streaming. Press it again, the LED will be OFF and the system will recover to the normal live streaming. Start record button: The LED is off by default. When it is in stop record or pause mode, the LED will be ON and the system will start to record after this button is pressed. Meanwhile, the Stop Record LED or Pause LED will be OFF. It will start to record all the audio, video and computer screen signals connected with the device. Stop record button: The LED is ON by default. When it is in recording mode, the system will stop recording and the Stop Record LED will be ON after this button is pressed. Meanwhile, the Start Record LED will be OFF. Pause button: The LED is OFF by default. When it is in recording mode, the system will pause recording and the Pause LED will be ON after this button is pressed. Meanwhile, the Start Record LED or Pause LED will be OFF. Press the Quick Record button to recover to the recording mode. Taking picture button: Not available yet. 3.4 Network Set the network parameters properly according to the requirements of the network administrator. 11 Enter the IP address of the device in address bar of the Internet Explorer. Then press Enter to visit the Web interface. Fig. Login interface The user name and default password of the administrator are both admin. The administrator can set the user name and password for the common users. Please refer to the user management section for detailed information. After logging in as the administrator, you will see the following interface. 12 Fig. Interface after logging in as the common user After logging in the device, you will see the company logo, equipment model, current user name and time displayed on the top left of the home page. There are two buttons on the right, including the Refresh button and the Alarm button, which can be used to refresh the current page and view the alarm information of the device respectively. The numbers of online users, live streaming users and VOD users of the moment will be displayed here as well. For information about Change password, Sign out and Exit, please refer to Section Install and Download Plug-ins When logging in for the first time, please click the link of ReachFtpClient to download and install the ReachDownload tool and then click the link of Download RecPlayer to download and install the player, so that you can download the recorded multimedia files and perform the live streaming and VOD of multimedia videos in the future. 13 IV Live streaming 4.1 Start and Close Live Streaming Sign in the device by using admin. Sign in the Live interface by default and click Signals to expand the board card information of the device. Fig. Live interface Tick Enable in the Live Streaming field and click Play to prompt the RecPlayer to receive the live streaming contents. By default, if the live streaming is enabled, you will receive all the videos and VGA images collected by the board cards. If the multicast is enabled, you will receive the videos and VGA images selectively. Tick Enable in the Multicast field, then you can receive the multicast contents with the RecPlayer (some versions do not support the multicast function). For the detailed information about receiving the live streaming with the RecPlayer, please refer to the section introducing it. To close the live streaming, deselect Enable. 4.2 Watching live streaming as a Common User Sign in the device by using a common user name with the authority of live streaming. V Record 5.1 Quick Record on Web Interface Sign in the device by using admin. Click Live menu to enter the Live management interface. Tick the video and audio sources to record on the Signals page. Click Quick Record, the device will start to record in a few seconds. The recorded multimedia file is named as yyyyddmmhhmmss_h, which is formed with the recording year, month, date, hour, minute, second and quality of the bit-rate ( _H means the default high quality file and _L means low quality file. You need to select the low quality bit-rate). You cannot change the audio and video sources as well as their attributes while recording. Copyright SZ Reach Tech Co., Ltd. 14 / 46

Click Advanced record to prompt the confirmation dialog box. You can define the record attributes on the advanced record page. You cannot change the audio and video sources as well as their attributes while recording. 5.3 Scheduled Record The scheduled record tasks can be set on the advanced record page. 17 5.3.1 Add new scheduled record Click the Add button on the Schedules page, a new scheduled record dialog box will pop up for you to set the file name, file group and other information. After select Regular record, you can set the scheduled period and time and the record time of everyday, every week and every month. Then click OK button to save the settings. 18 Fig. Modifying scheduled record task Delete scheduled record Select the scheduled record task you want to delete and click the Delete button, a dialog will appear to prompt the user to delete. You can click OK button to delete or click Cancel button to cancel the deletion. Fig. Deleting scheduled record task Record immediately If the device has not started recording, it will start to record immediately once you click Record Now after selecting a record task on the Schedules page. If the device is recording, a dialog box will appear to provide the conflict prompt. Clicking Record Now will not change the attribute settings of original scheduled record task. 19 Fig. Record immediately 5.4 Stop Record on Web Interface Sign in the device by using admin. Click Live menu to enter the device Live management interface. The Quick Record button will become Stop Recording button during recording. Click Stop Recording. Then it will stop in a few seconds. 20 When the device is in the record mode, once the Pause button is pressed, the Pause LED will be on and the Record LED will be off, then you can pause recording. Repress the Record button, the system will continue to record without generating a new file name. When the device is in record mode, press the Stop Record button to stop it, the Stop Record LED will be on and the Record LED will be off. VI VOD 6.1 VOD as the Administrator Sign in the device by using admin. Click the Files menu to enter the file management interface. Fig. File management interface for the administrator If there are more than one page in file list, you can turn the pages by clicking Next page and Last page, or change the displaying number on each page. To sort the files, click Name, Start on, Lecturer, Course name or Hits. If you cannot find the recorded file, click Synchronize or Refresh to refresh the file list to search it again. Click the H-Quality button; the RecPlayer will pop up for you to play the video files. 21 6.2 VOD as a Common User Sign in the device by using a common user name with VOD authority. Click the file list. To sort the files, click Name, Start on, Lecturer, Course name or Hits. If you cannot find the recorded file, click Synchronize or Refresh to refresh the file list to search it again. Click the H-Quality button; the RecPlayer will pop up for you to play the video files. If both the high quality and low quality files are recorded, the H-Quality button and L-Quality button will appear. 6.3 Search Files Sign in the device by using admin. 22 In the search bar, you may use the file name, record time and file group as the key words for search. Enter related key words and then click Search to get the result. 6.4 Modify Files Sign in the device by using admin. Click the Files menu on the left to enter the VOD management interface. To preview the thumbnail of the file, move the cursor to the preview area. Fig. Previewing the file image Click the file name to view the details of the current file. Select a file and click the Modify button, then you can modify the basic information of the file. Fig. Modifying files Click OK to save after the modification. 23 6.5 Delete files Sign in the device by using admin. Click the Files menu on the left to enter the file management interface. Select the file you want to delete and click the Delete button on the top, the confirmation dialog box will pop up. You can click OK to delete or click Cancel to cancel and return to the file management page. Fig. Confirmation dialog box for deleting files 6.6 Synchronize files After the system is upgraded or the database is updated, the file may be not displayed in the list. Click the Synchronize button on the VOD management page, the files recorded in the old database will be displayed. The Refresh button is used to refresh the current file list information. 24 Fig. Login interface of ReachDownload You may click English to switch to the English interface. Enter the server IP address, user name and password. The default user name and password are both admin. Click the "OK" button. Fig. ReachDownload interface Select the file that you want to download from the left column. You may Search a specified file with the file name as key word or select the file you want to download with the Select All and Unselect button. 25 It is not recommended to perform other operations while downloading files. Once downloaded, you can play the files with the RecPlayer. VIII User Management Sign in the device by using admin. Click User on the left to enter the user management interface. There are two tabs on this interface by default, including Local User and Local User Group. 8.1 Add New User Click Add. 26 Enter the information of the user name, password and group following the instructions. Click the "Save" button. 8.2 Modify User Attributes Select the user whose attributes need to be modified and click Modify button. 27 8.3 Edit the VOD Authority of User To modify the user s authority to play the file recorded, click the Files Authority tab in the Modify dialog box. Fig. Editing the VOD authority of user You may select the files that users are allowed to play on demand from the Files column. To select all the files, select the checkbox beside Files. You can also select Modify, Delete and Download checkboxes to grant the user with authorities to modify, delete and download files. Click the Save button, the modification will be effective. 8.4 Delete Users Select the user you want to delete and then click the Delete button. Click OK in the prompted confirmation dialog box. 28 8.5 LDAP User and User Group Management REACH CL4000(Powolive ) The LDAP User and LDAP User Group tabs will appear on the user management interface after the LDAP server is enabled in the system management page and connected successfully (please refer to Section for details). Fig. LDAP user management You can click the Synchronize button to synchronize the user names and user groups on the LDAP server to the Media Master. You can search the user information according to the user name and user group, click the Modify button to modify the remark information of the user or the user group, however, you cannot change the user name and password. You can also click Authorazition to set the authority of the user or the user group (the setting method is the same as that of local users, please refer to Section 8 User Management). IX Settings 9.1 Set VOD and Record Parameters Sign in the device by using admin. Click the Live menu to enter the Live management interface and click Signals to expand the details Set Live bit-rate You can set the default bit-rate, enable high/low quality bit-rate, select the audio input source as Line in or MIC in and set the bit-rate of audio on this page. Icon Definition The screen will move upward. The screen will move left. The screen will move right. The screen will move downward. The screen will recover to the position before moving. 30 the direction buttons. You may select high, middle and low proportions. Click the number of the camera you want to control. Select the protocol that matches with the camera PTZ from the Protocol" line. Control the rotation and scaling of the camera from the PTZ Console line. Icon Definition The camera will move upward. The camera will move left. The camera will move right. The camera will move downward. The camera will zoom in on the image. The camera will zoom out on the image. Speed Control the moving speed of the PTZ, and the speed can be low, middle or high. 31 9.2 Set System Parameters Sign in the device by using admin. Click the Settings menu on the left to enter the system management interface. Fig. System management interface Upgrade the system [Warning] Only the authorized professionals can upgrade the system in strict accordance with the upgrade instructions. The upgrade conducted by others may lead to unpredictable results! Click "Upload patches in the Upgrade System field and select the upgrade file for the system. Click the "Upload" button. 32 Click the "Save" button. The system language will be the selected language after you re-sign into the device. Fig. Changing the language You may also modify the language settings on the home page of the device. The system will recover the setting before the modification when the browser is restarted or the caching is cleared Restart the system and synchronize the time You may click Sync to synchronize the device time to the current login user end. To restart the device, click Restart Server. Fig. Restarting the system and synchronizing the time IP settings [Warning] Modifying the network configuration will cause the device to restart, therefore, please stop recording and save the other important settings before modification! 33 Click the "Save" button. To enable the new network settings, restart the device. Fig. Modifying the IP address Configure the network storage [Warning] This device can only be used together with the network storage device that has passed the specialized tests. The connection to the network storage device that has not passed the test may result in system error and user data loss! Select Enable Network Storage in the Network Storage Settings field. Enter the IP address of the network storage. If you want to store the recorded file in the network storage firstly, select "Network Storage First". Click the "Save" button. 34 9.2.6 Modify the device name Modify the Device Name in the Device Name Setting field. Click the "Save" button. The new name will be displayed on the login interface and home page after the modification. Fig. Modifying the device name Recording duration for single file To set the recording duration for a single file, tick Enable Time Slicing. The system will automatically generate a new file after the trigger according to the time set. You can also cancel the settings to save the contents recorded as one file all the time System configuration This field is used to set the time when the user is forced to log out the system in case that the user has no action, set the free space alarm threshold (the system will provide a warning message when the free space is less than the threshold), and select whether the verification code will be enabled on the login interface. 35 Fig. System configuration FTP server management You can upload the files recorded to the third party server. This field is used to configure the address and port of the server, user name and password. Fig. FTP server management LDAP sever configuration The system supports the LDAP server and you can sign in the system with the user information stored on it. To change the password of the current user, click Change password. Note: The administrator cannot change the password of other users. Only the user can change the password for itself after sign in. Click Sign out to go back to the login page, and re-enter the login information to sign in. Click Exit to close the browser and log out the system. XI Log Management Sign in the device by using admin. Click Logs on the left, the system Sign interface will appear. You can search corresponding logs by inputting key words in the User, Type and other fields in the search bar on the top. You may click the Maintain button to delete the log. XII Troubleshooting Unable to start Please try the following operations: Make sure that there is power supply for the power socket. Connect the power cables properly. Turn on the power switch of the product. The computer could not Sign into the Web interface Make sure that the computer and the product are connected in the same interconnected network. Make sure that the network parameters (such as IP address) of the computer and the product have been set according to the requirements of the network administrator. Use the network tool and software to test the network connection between the computer and the product. For example, use the ping command. 38 computer Please check if the cables between the video and audio sources and the product are connected properly before watching the live streaming. Please make sure that the file you want to play on demand contains normal audio and video flow before playing the VOD file. Check if the network connection between the computer and the product is smooth. Install necessary software and plug-in provided by the product to watch the live streaming and VOD. Update other necessary software for the computer, such as the sound card, video card driver, operating system patch, etc.. XIII Introduction to RecPlayer 13.1 Product Overview Reach RecPlayer is a software developed by SZ Reach Tech Co., Ltd for its Media Master, usually installed on the computer for use. The media files recorded with Reach Media Master are multiple streams, which may not be played well with general players. 39 13.2 Environment for Software and Hardware Installation To maintain the smoothness of the network communication, the network bandwidth shall be at least 100M and it is recommended to use the network with a bandwidth of 1000M. Recommended configurations for software installation PC: Dual-core processor above 2.2GHz Resolution of above 1024*768 Video memory independent VGA card of above 512M Memory of above 2G HD space of over 1GB Win2000/XP/Win7 Chinese/English operating system 13.3 Introduction to the Interface Main interface for the software control As shown in the above figure, the software operation interface is composed of 4 fields: 1. Tool menu. 2. Play window. 3. Auxiliary function. 4. Playing status. The tool menu is used to perform some common control operations of the software. The play window displays the playing status of the current video. The auxiliary function field mainly displays the information of the video played and provides preview control. 40 13.4 Functions Play Receive live streaming in the unicast mode: Enable Unicast on the Live page of the Media Master and then click Play button. The system will call the RecPlayer to play the file. Receive live streaming in the multicast mode: Method 1: Enable Multicast on the Live page of the Media Master and then click Play button. The system will call the RecPlayer to play the file. Method 2: Enable Multicast on the Live page of the Media Master and then return to the RecPlayer to click Operation. The following menu items will appear: Receive media, Play file, Login server, Vod file, Close and Exit. Fig. Operation menu Once Receive media is selected, a dialog box as below will pop up with the multicast address and port of corresponding Media Master. 41 figure: Fig. Live streaming Note: The multicast function is available only after the multicast service is enabled and you must confirm whether the multicast address and port are correct before the connection to ensure the success Receive VOD Method 1: Directly click the Files button on the Media Master; the system will automatically call the RecPlayer to play on your demand. Method 2: Select Login server to prompt a dialog box and enter the IP address of corresponding Media Master and the default VOD password szreach, as shown in the following figure: Fig. Dialog box for logging in the VOD server Click OK, a dialog box will pop up, showing the files saved on the corresponding Media Master. Note: This function is available only when you are playing on demand after the video is recorded Online Communication Select the Online Chat option in the third field of the software. The Media Master supports the live streaming online text chatting function. This function can be enabled only when the administrator previews the system after the encoder is connected, and it can be started and closed by the administrator only. To enable this function, select the Online Chat option directly upon the preview of the administrator. 43 When the administrator enables the Online Chat function, the clients may start text communication or speak to all the connected users or certain user. To speak to certain user, you need to double click a certain user in the user list and then click Send. (If you click User Number, it indicates that you send to all the connected users.) Besides, you may also right click the menu to enable the online communication function. To do this, right click the expanded arrow mark in the above figure: 1. Start roll-call: Click this button. Then you can carry out roll-call operation on all the online live streaming receivers one by one. If the following client does not have Confirm response, it indicates that no one is watching the live streaming at the client. Directly click the Start roll-call button in the above figure, the following figure will appear. Click the Start button. Then you can start the roll-call operation. 2. Disconnect user: the administrator may disconnect the link of any user at any time to prevent him/her from receiving the live streaming to prevent the unknown user to maliciously connect the server to receive the live streaming, so as to ensure that the legal users can normally receive the live streaming. To disconnect the link of any user, click the user directly in the user list, click Disconnect user button, then select Yes in the confirmation dialog box. 3. Multicast agent: The administrator may remotely start or close the multicast agent function of any user at any time. To remotely open the multicast agent function of a user, directly click the user in the user list and click Open multicast agent button. 45 have the following options: Big Video, Disable AGP accelerate, Tensile and Zoom options under Image display. Dialog box for Option menu Big Video: Used to zoom in any window of the picture. Disable AGP accelerate: Used to disable a function of the computer video card. It is generally not used. Tensile: Used to stretch a video window to display with full screen. Zoom: Used to display the picture according to its actual size. Normal: Used to return to the initial window state. Besides, there are two more operation functions. 1. Select one picture and double click, it will display with full screen. 2. Dragging the picture to change the position of the picture window Play of Local List In the first field of the software interface, enter the Operation menu and select the Play files option, a window will pup up. Find all the files you want to play and directly click Open button. Return to the File List option, you will see the list of files you selected. 46 13.10 Play Control You can see four buttons in the forth field of the software interface, including the Playing status, Pause, Stop and Sound control. In the live streaming mode, you can adjust the sound only; the Pause and Stop buttons are disabled. In the VOD or local play mode, all the button functions are enabled. As shown in the following figure: Other Options Select the language In the first field of the software interface, find the Tool menu and select Language. Then you can select Simple Chinese or English, as shown in the following figure: View the software version You can view the technical version of the software by selecting the Help menu in the first field of the software interface.
