2 COMPUTING Whether you ve got what it takes to code the next big app, or you re a future innovator of computer science, there s a computing course here at Edinburgh College to suit you. You can study everything from content creation to desktop support and networking. Master the skills in digital media editing, database administration, social media and e-commerce, web design, animation, 3D modelling, programming in C#, PHP, Actionscript, Javascript, Java and C++, scripting, batching, network architecture and forensics, all taught by industry veteran lecturers with extensive real life experience. Mathematics is at the heart of computing, so our courses will provide you with the skills in numeracy and mathematics you need to be confident in both your subject and its underlying technologies. We have selected the best of the industry-recognised qualifications, including Oracle Academy, Cisco Certified Network Associate and CompTIA A+ Training, and embed them in our courses to ensure your studies are as attractive as possible to employers when you graduate. 3 COMPUTING BRAD LOVEJOY // HND COMPUTING Brad Lovejoy studied HND at Edinburgh College after leaving school. He was then successful enough to be accepted into 3rd Year on the BEng Computer Systems and Networks course at Edinburgh Napier University. From there he secured a job working for Hutchinson Networks as a Junior Network Engineer. Since starting work, he has been involved in many jobs such as LAN upgrades, hardware refreshes, site surveys, wireless surveys, project management, configurations, remote support and much more. I have been given the chance to travel many countries in the space of just seven months through work including Spain, Italy, Sweden, Netherlands and France. I have had the opportunity to work with technologies and multiple vendors such as Cisco, juniper and F5 to name but a few. The hands on experience gained is exactly what you need to progress your career. Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Mi OL An introductory Microsoft certification for individuals considering a career in technology. CODESPACE Scotland has 11,000 digital job vacancies and this is one of the government s key economic growth areas, so giving this next generation of leading tech entrepreneurs a head start while they are at college is really important.
