1 FLAMESTOP ADDRESSABLE SOFTWARE INSTALLATION MANUAL FOR PFS200 & PFSIFP8 FIRE PANELS (HOW TO LOAD THE SOFTWARE ONTO YOUR COMPUTER) 1

2 1. To begin installation, Insert the Flamestop PFS Sofware installation CD into your CD drive. Your system should automatically detect and run and open the CD as shown below. Double left click on Programming software folder to to open the folder. 2. Once inside the Programming Software folder right click on the icon named PFSDef2.1_setup and select Run as.. to open the installation file. Note: It is very important you run this software as the Administrator, otherwise the software may not load correctly. 2

3 3. A window will appear welcoming you to the installation. Select Next to continue. 4. Read the terms and conditions of the license agreement and select No or Yes. Pressing No will close the setup, Pressing Yes will allow you to proceed with the installation. 3

4 5. Additional information will be displayed. Click Next to proceed. 6. Provide your prefered username as well as your company name. Once filled select Next to continue. Note: You will not be able to continue without a User name and Company name. 4

5 7. Choose which folder on your computer to install the PFS Software. To install into the default location Click Next otherwise click Browse to change the destination folder. 8. Select the Typical set up and select Next to proceed. 5

6 9. Click Next to continue with the default program folder PFSDef Defining Tool otherwise change to your preferred folder name and click Next. 10. The Setup installation will now review and display the settings before copying the program to your computer. If you want to review or change any settings, click Back otherwise click Next to begin copying files. 6

7 11. The setup will now copy all files to your computer. Please wait until it is completed. 12. The setup is now completed. To use this software click Start > All Programs > PFSDef Defining Tool. You may also wish to drag this icon to your desktop to create a shortcut to open the software. If successful, on opening the PSF defining tool software your screen should look just as it is below. 7

8 TROUBLESHOOTING INSTALLATION Depending on the version of your Windows operating system you may be required to run a patch. This only applies for new computers running a Windows 7 operating system with either a 32 or 64 bit CPU. Any older version operating systems will work fine. Without the patch you will be unable to open the PFSDef Defining Tool. PATCH INSTALLATION 1. To install the patch open the CD open the folder Programming Software then double click Patch for Windows 7 to access the patch folder. 8

9 2. In the folder Patch for Windows 7 there are 4 patch files. Open either one of the two files GstDefPatchfor32Vista for the 32bit or GstDefPatchfor64OS for the 64 bit CPU depending on your Windows operating system. Note: Ignore files GstGMCPatchfo32Vista and GstGMCPatchfor64OS. These files are patches required for use only for computers that have our Graphics Monitoring Centre software loaded. 3. A black window will come up; installation of the patch will follow. A smaller window will appear whilst installing, continue with installation by clicking Ok approximately 5 times until installation is complete. 9
