1 The Sensor Readings Gadget for Window 7 Version Before you start: 1. You need the Virtual Coordinator Version or above ready in the same computer or the other computer in the same network. 2. Please get the IP address of Virtual Coordinator. We recommend that you set the IP address of your computer which is running the Virtual Coordinator as a static IP instead of DHCP, so that you do not need to change the setting once your computer (with Virtual Coordinator running) changes the IP address dynamically. Or, if you are running the Gadget in the same computer running Virtual Coordinator, you can simply input (you need to add the port number here, if needed, see the Use section below) as your IP address so you do not need to change it later because this IP address refers to the default IP of local host. Install: 1. Put the installation file SensorReadings.Gadget file in any folder. 2. Double click it to begin the installation. 3. Click install button. The installation is done now. You can see the Gadget on your desktop. Use: 1. Set the IP address: move your mouse on the Gadget, click the wrench style icon on the right side of the Gadget. 2. Input the IP address of the Virtual Coordinator you want to see. If the Virtual Coordinator is installed in the same computer, you can simply input (Notice: if you set a HTTP server port which is not the default 80, you need to append the port number here, (IP address:http port) e.g :81 if you set the HTTP port as 81.)

2 3. Make sure you input the correct IP address, and then click OK. If something is wrong, it will show the error message like this. Make sure this computer is in the same network with the computer which has Virtual Coordinator running. 4. Choose a Transmitter in the Unit list, and then choose a Sensor to show. 5. You can see the Gadget show the reading of one sensor, you can switch it to another sensor if you like. Change the scale of the gauge: You can input the number you like in the input section on the bottom of the Gadget, then click OK. The setting is remembered, so if you close the Gadget and open it again, you can still have the setting.

Choose a Transmitter in the Unit list, and then choose a Sensor to show. 5.

3 Add another Gadget on the desktop OR re-open the Gadget after you close it: 1. On the desktop, right click, go in to the Gadgets option, you can see the list of the Gadgets you installed. By clicking the Show details, you can see more information about the Gadget, such as the version number. 2. Simply double click the icon OR drag it onto the desktop OR right click it and then click Add.

4 3. You can add several Gadgets on the desktop to show different readings. 4. You can click the cross style icon to close it. 5. Next time you open it, it will automatically load the sensor you chose last time. Uninstall: 1. Right click on the desktop, go into the Gadgets option. 2. Choose the Gadget you want to uninstall. Right click it and click Uninstall. The Gadget will be removed from your system.

5 More functions: 1. Refresh button: click it to refresh the Gadget, especially when you changed some settings, such as the name of the transmitter. Notice: make sure the transmitter list and sensor option inputs choose a specific sensor to show when you are refreshing the Gadget. Or after the refreshing the Gadget, the Gadget will not show any reading. If this happens, you need to wait several seconds and reset the Gadget from the beginning by first clicking the Options on the right side of the Gadget (the wrench style icon) then choosing the transmitter name and sensor name. 2. Show Time button: move the mouse on it to show the latest update time of the reading in the Gadget. Notice: If it does not show the popup label, try to click anywhere in the Gadget window to make the Gadget window activated. Then you can move your mouse on it to check the update time. Troubleshooting: Sometimes, when the communication fails or the Windows meets some unexpected problems, Gadget cannot work correctly, you can check the Virtual Coordinator web reading pages to see if it is still showing readings correctly. If the readings are still there and the communication works fine, but the No Response messages are still showing on the Gadget, the only way to resume the Gadget is closing all the Gadgets you opened, wait some time (probably several seconds to minutes), then reopen the Gadget. You will need to set all the Gadgets from the beginning.

Or after the refreshing the Gadget, the Gadget will not show any reading.
