Master s Programs Doctorate Programs Master of Science Available both online and on campus, this program is flexible enough to meet your needs whether you are a working professional or plan to become a full-time graduate student. Designed to be completed within one year of full-time study, you will study crime and criminal justice from an interdisciplinary perspective, drawing insights from sociology, law, public administration, and criminal justice. Doctor of Philosophy Become a social scientist, and consume, transmit, and independently produce research on crime and criminal justice. We work to ensure that all of our graduates share a common, rigorous training that will prepare you for the rapidly growing field of criminal justice research. 5 School of Human Services As a graduate student in the School of Human Services, you can expect the highest quality instruction, evidence-based best practices, and hands-on learning. You will apply the knowledge you learn through internships, practicums and service learning courses, research opportunities with world-class and awardwinning faculty, and opportunities to publish your work and present at national conferences. Master s Programs Foundations in Behavior Analysis (MEd ONLINE) You will learn the fundamental principles guiding the study of Behavior Analysis, meeting the coursework requirements for the BACB 1 for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst credential. Health Education (MS) Both concentrations below prepare you to achieve CHES2 credentials. Community Health Concentration - Prepare for work in community health settings, health departments, nonprofit agencies, hospitals, health organizations, and more. Exercise Management - Prepare to be a health educator in fitness-related settings. Additional certifications related to sports medicine and exercise are available. Public Health (MPH) A joint degree offered in conjunction with the UC Department of Public Health Sciences. This program is designed for those seeking work as public health educators in departments of public health, governmental agencies, and some voluntary organizations. Mental Health Counseling (MA) You will receive specialized coursework and extensive field-based training to prepare for professional practice and employment in community agency, hospital, and private practice settings. CACREP3-accredited program; meets requirements established by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapy Board for licensure as a Professional Counselor. School Counseling (MEd) You will prepare for work in a variety of public and private school settings, participating in specialized coursework and extensive field-based training. CACREP3 accredited program meeting training requirements established by the Ohio Department of Education for licensure as a professional school counselor. School Psychology (PhD) This comprehensive five-year program of study is comprised of three years of sequential coursework and integrative field experiences, a year-long internship, and research and dissertation requirements. You will be trained to be a highly competent, professional school psychologist and leader in behaviorally-oriented research, teaching, supervision, and systems-level change. Specialist Program Education Specialist in School Psychology (EdS) You will be prepared to make significant contributions through the most up-to-date professional practice and professional leadership. Accredited by the NASP4 and the ABAI5. This specialist-level preparation leads to certification in school psychology in Ohio (and most other states). It also meets training requirements for National Certification in School Psychology administered through NASP. Doctorate Programs Counselor Education (EdD) You will become skilled in research, teaching, and service as a leader in the profession from an ecological perspective. This program focuses on prevention and offers cognate areas of specialization including: prevention, substance abuse, and research methods. Health Education (PhD) This program is designed to provide a strong research focus for those who already have (1) BACB : Behavior Analyst Certification Board (2) CHES: Certified Health Education Specialist (3) CACREP: Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (4) NASP: National Association of School Psychologists (5) ABAI: Association for Behavior Analysis International 8 master s level training in health education or a closely related field. You ll have extensive research opportunities to prepare you to be a faculty member in academic institutions or a researcher with governmental or private health agencies. Ashley Merianos Health Education I have gained a solid foundation to positively impact individuals and communities. I have had the opportunity to be involved in many collaborative research studies with faculty, extensively publishing research articles and delivering national and international research presentations. My experiences have been nothing short of remarkable. 09
