Teaches about 3000 students.

This project promotes a virtual network to support social and business development of communities Project Educa (FRIDA funding) oriented to support e-learning activities with special emphasis on multi-cultural characteristics. Several ontologies to represent multi-cultural aspects have been developed.

19 Go4IT/INCO Workshop - October LACCIR - Latin American Federation for IT Virtual institute, composed of seven leading LA universities (from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Uruguay), funded by Microsoft Research. Objectives: leverage existing research capacities, share ressources, improve human resources development. Joint projects. Infrastructure for teleconference and vrtual working space interaction being put in place.

20 Go4IT/INCO Workshop - October Challenges for the future Continue supporting Uruguayan Government, IT industry, and society, via long term partnerships. Leverage cooperation initiatives to strenghten our research capacity, participate in more international projects. Consolidate PhD program. Diversify university degree menu in IT related areas, much in demand.
