1 The little purple book of fundraising ideas
2 Intro This Little Purple Book of Fundraising ideas has been developed to help you raise funds and have fun along the way. We have some great ideas and have even listed our top 10 fundraisers to do at work, and at home. By getting involved in Relay For Life you are helping the Cancer Society provide a wide range of free support services and information for people affected by cancer and are supporting vital research into the causes and treatment of cancer. Relay For Life is also a great opportunity to connect with others to celebrate life today, remember loved ones and fight back and raise funds. For more information visit relay.org.nz or [email protected] Happy Fundraising from the team at the Cancer Society. PS: Make sure you read the Fundraising guidelines at the back of this book. Keep it legal and safe To put our minds at rest and to stop you from accidentally breaking any laws, please read the important stuff below. When you read through our ideas, look out for this exclamation mark This is to tell you that you definitely need to consider health and safety and legal requirements when doing this fundraising activity. Health and safety It s all about common sense. Follow the professional advice of equipment manufacturers and staff supervising any facilities. The formal bit: Cancer Society Auckland cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury suffered by you or anyone else as a result of taking part in a fundraising event. Food hygiene This is vitally important. No one likes an upset tummy, especially as a reward for raising money for a charity. Please take great care when handling food and work to basic rules for safe preparation, storage, display and cooking. Our broader Cancer Society Fundraising Guidelines can also be found here - link to : cancersocietyauckland.org.nz/ document.doc?id=14
