13 Operational challenges in the Arctic Distinguish between exploration and operation Drilling when possible during summer (temporary) Production facilities are «stuck» with arctic conditions «Ice Management» Continous surveillance of ice bergs and ice front(moving) Ice breakers, handling of ice bergs Maritime safety Technology, operations and environmental risk Polar Code, Norsok N-003 and EER Economy will depend on Regularity and risk of production stop 13
