In 1964, IESE created Europe s first two-year MBA program under the guidance of the IESE-Harvard Advisory Committee. 12 PROGRAM STRUCTURE The Healthcare Management Program is divided into three one-week modules held over three months on IESE s Madrid and Barcelona campuses, with each week covering a broad theme. At the end of the program, you receive a diploma a valued credential in the corporate world certifying that you have successfully completed the Healthcare Management Program. Module 1 Module 2 Module 3 Module Workload THE STEPPING STONES Madrid, April 16-20, 2012 This module covers the economic environment of healthcare, including international trends and incentives for patients and providers. Other topics include methods and tools to support accounting, control, and decision analysis; performance management and motivation and basic operational concepts focusing on healthcare service delivery. FACING CHANGE Barcelona, May 14-18, 2012 In the second week, you begin to examine existing healthcare models and study topics such as advanced accounting and control concepts, team decision making, change leadership, information technology and entrepreneurship. GETTING THINGS DONE Madrid, June 18-22, 2012 The final module continues the review of healthcare models and covers leadership management, negotiation and service delivery design. BEFORE EACH MODULE: A package with pre-readings arrives one month before the start of each residential week to give you time to prepare. DURING MODULES: Expect to be fully occupied with classes, study and organized social activities during the three full-time weeks. This means that you should try to leave work responsibilities at the office. It is normal to spend an average of eight hours a day at IESE divided between classes and small-team work, attending four to five sessions a day. The rule of thumb is that each class or case study requires two hours advance preparation time. BETWEEN MODULES: When not on IESE s campus, you are preparing for the next residential week and carrying out self-assessment projects. They hold Ph.D.s from renowned universities and many lead their own business enterprises. Madrid The fast-moving European capital is home to multinational headquarters and government entities as well as a wealth of significant museums and historical sites. Just minutes away from the city center, IESE s expanded campus is located in an attractive and tranquil residential area. The world-class campus meets the highest international standards for executive education and features the latest multimedia learning technologies in its state-of-the-art lecture theaters and meeting rooms. We have designed this program to provide a hands on approach to healthcare management.
