1 Dr. Jonathan Drennan Organisation & Role: Lecturer in Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems in University College Dublin Role in Institute of Leadership: Guest Lecturer Phone: jonathan.drennan@ucd.ie Jonathan Drennan is a senior lecturer at the Institute of Leadership, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Medical University of Bahrain. He holds a PhD and master s degree in education from University College Dublin, a postgraduate diploma in statistics from Trinity College Dublin and a bachelor s degree in nursing from the University of Ulster. He has extensive clinical experience in many areas of healthcare including accident and emergency and addiction care. Dr. Drennan has had a number of papers published in the areas of ageing, education research, health research, adolescent health, women s health and psychometrics in leading journals including Ageing and Society, Journal of Advanced Nursing, Social Science and Medicine, Journal of Nursing Scholarship, Studies in Higher Education and Nurse Education Today. He has expertise in a number of areas of statistical analysis and has extensive experience of teaching and using statistical software packages including the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and AMOS. Dr, Drennan acts as a statistical adviser to the Journal of Clinical Nursing. He has extensive experience of large scale research projects having worked as Principal Investigator and co-applicant on a number of funded studies including: National Evaluation of the Role of the Clinical Placement Coordinator, Review of Five Points of Entry to the An Bord Altranais Register, Loneliness and Social Isolation among Older Irish People, Identifying Nursing & Midwifery Research Priorities for Ireland and A Randomised Controlled Trail of Supported Socialisation for People with Serious Mental Illness. He was the lead investigator of the first national evaluation of nurse and midwifery prescribing in Ireland.
