Turn on Use built-in thumbnails (Fig. 1). 3. In the Images panel of the Preferences Media Rendering dialog, turn on the Color match setting (Fig. 2). This ensures that images are displayed to match the appropriate ICC color profile. 4. Customize your color labels in the Preferences Labels dialog. See Fig. 3 for ideas about how to name color labels to assist your photo management workflow. B. Import & catalog Raw files 1. Create a job or project folder. For example: Client Name_Job Name_DDMMYYYY (Date) Example: NYTimes_Spielberg_ Save your catalog in this folder. 3. Create a sub-folder called Orginals. 4. Open the Import dialog (File Import Items From Camera) and go to the Options panel. Turn on the Set file creation date to capture date option. In the Annotate drop-down menu, choose a metadata template to apply to your images during the import process. 5. Set the Originals folder as the download Destination for your Raw files. 6. Click the Download button. C. Review & mark media 1. Review images in Media View, Lightbox or Slide Show mode. 2. Using color labels or star ratings, mark your favorite your photos. The number keys such as 1,2,3 correspond to each color label. This makes assigning labels simple and fast. 3. Iterate the marking process until you have decided which images you wish to convert. 4. Use the Find Show Labeled or Show Rated functions to filter the catalog to display only the images that are going to be converted with Capture One PRO. Figure 1: Choosing this option instructs MediaPro to generate thumbnails based on the JPEGs embedded in Raw files. This speeds up the import process. Figure 2: Turn on this option for color profile matching. First Pick Second Pick Third Pick Delete Unusable Client Pick Color Corrected Retouched Special Effects Archived Figure 3: You can customize the colors and names of the labels to help track images throughout the workflow. You may want to use star ratings for your picks, which would free up several labels for other designations. iview MediaPro & Capture One PRO

Create a copy of your catalog (thumbnails, metadata) as an XML file. This protects your data because it is stored in a open format that can be read by just about any database. To create an XML file from your catalog, select Export to XML in the File menu (Fig. 12). In the dialog, turn on the Thumbnails and Voice recording options (if you have the disk space, turn on the Original files option too). This will create a copy of these files in a folder of the same name. Click Export and choose a folder to store the package of files on the desktop. Figure 10: With this function, you can export (or write) metadata from catalog to the original image files. MediaPro supports the embedding of QuickTime, IPTC and XMP metadata into the TIFF, JPEG, JPEG 2000 and Photoshop formats. Figure 11: MediaPro automatically scans your computer for available hard drives, partitions and removable media and places them in the Destination pull-down menu. Figure 12: Create a copy of your catalog (thumbnails, metadata) as an XML file. This protects your data because it is stored in a open format that can be read by just about any database. iview MediaPro Workflow Solutions
