3 SABIANA, Company Profile SABIANA: AN HISTORY OF SUCCESS SINCE 1929 When in 1929 Benvenuto Anatrella and Franco Binaghi founded Sabiana (the name stands for Società Anonima Binaghi Anatrella), with the purpose of making and selling air-conditioning appliances, they sealed their partnership with a simple handshake. From the outset, this gesture defined the company s founding values: trust, respect, transparency, honesty. Strong values, which combined with Binaghi s technological creativity and Anatrella s business skills, brought to life a company that in more than 80 years has always boasted an impeccable reputation of dedication, solidity and reliability. 3

4 A COMPANY OF PEOPLE, NOT NUMBERS Today Sabiana is still a family business, managed by the second and third generation of the two founding families: Luigi Binaghi, Franco s son, is company President; Giorgio Pellegrini, Benvenuto Anatrella s son-in-law, is CEO; Nicola Binaghi, Luigi s son, is General Manager; Marco Pellegrini, Giorgio s son, and Luca Binaghi, Luigi s son, are respectively Export and Italian Sales Directors. 5 SABIANA IN ITALY AND IN THE WORLD Times have changed, skills have evolved, the company has enormously extended its product range, becoming one of the leading businesses in this industry in Italy and Europe. Carisma Fly In Italy it is currently one of the main manufacturers of fan coils, with a market share of 25%. A share that is certain to grow following the introduction in 2012 of a high wall model, Carisma Fly, completely made in Italy. In Europe, the company has conquered the number one position in the field of Cassette air-conditioners, with more than 50,000 units sold in 2013, accounting for over one third of total European production. The company has a worldwide presence in the radiant strip market, continuing to win prestigious orders, such as the heating system for the ice arenas being constructed in South Korea for the 2018 Winter Olympics. 6 Sales have grown considerably, reaching over 68 million euros in 2013, half of which from exports. Since 1929 there have been lots of changes at Sabiana. However the founding values have always been retained by the new generations that have taken over the reins at the company. Indeed, Sabiana can proudly state that it has never posted a loss. It has never made use of temporary lay-offs. It has never had to cut staff. Indeed, it continually invests in research, innovation and development, as well as the training and development of its greatest asset: its people. 6

7 HEADQUARTERS Sabiana was founded in Corbetta, moving to Milan after the war; nonetheless, by the end of the 1950s production moved back to Corbetta, 20 km from Milan where, in 1966, the company also moved its offices. The Corbetta site, called Sabiana 1, covering a total area of 27,000 m2, is where all unfinished metals are processed and the unit heaters, radiant panels and stainless steel flues are made. The company s head office and research and development are also situated here. In 2009 the Sabiana 2 site was opened in Magenta (Milan), where the company manufactures its fan coils and air handling units. The site covers a total area of around 15,000 m2, 9,000 of which indoors. This new site covers around 26,000 m2, 13,000 m2 of which indoors. 85% of the company s electricity consumption is provided by three photovoltaic systems, for a total of 1.36 Megawatts, perfectly integrated into the architectural structure of the buildings. 9 THE MAIN PRODUCT FAMILIES Sabiana has historically operated in the design, manufacture and sale of airconditioning appliances for work, recreational and public spaces. Recently the scope of its products has also been extended to include residential applications. All our products use the best natural fluid available, one that mankind uses in everything we do: water. By heating and cooling water, we can in fact air-condition any space, with maximum precision and comfort. 10 Unit heaters Heating strips Fan coils These are the company s historic products: they were first made back in Today Sabiana is European leader in this sector. Since 1971 these have been heating all types of industrial, commercial and sports environments by radiation. Meaning absolute silence, no moving air, uniform temperature and significant energy savings. They are the product that has made Sabiana s name around the world, with the company winning major orders, such as the immense hangars in Toulouse where the giants of the skies, the Airbus A380, are assembled. Manufactured since 1980, initially wallmounted and built-in, more recently in the Cassette, ducted and high wall versions, these units are suitable for all types of applications and spaces. Versatile, silent, meticulous design: they are one of the jewels in the company s crown. 10

11 Air handling units Flues Indoor air quality Manufactured since 1990, these units offer reliable performance, low noise and versatile use. Manufactured since 1997 using AISI 316L stainless steel. IMQ certified. The Crystall electronic filter, a Sabiana patent, is the product of the future: able to remove any type of pollutant from indoor air, this guarantees completely healthy environments, even in places with high occupant turnover such as hotel rooms, as well as user comfort and, with attentive design, energy savings of 50%. Health, comfort and energy savings: the most pressing needs of our century. And Crystall has the answer. 11
