3 Ventilation units Electricity the energy source of the future The time of the huge energy giants is over; decentralised structures and renewable energies will become the norm for the future of energy supply, as more and more people recognise the benefits of using self-generated power from renewable sources. The goal of the energy transition is independence from fossil fuels Fossil fuels are in decline on the electricity market too harmful to the climate and ever more scarce. Nowadays, alternative energies from the sun, wind and water are being used to generate power. This means electricity will remain our primary energy source well into the future. So it is only logical to act in good time to convert the largest energy consumer in your home the heating system to this futureproof form of energy. As nearly 90 % of energy consumed in the home is used for heating and hot water, this makes perfect sense. So there is plenty of scope for applying the energy transition at home. 5 Ventilation units Systematic ventilation: For pleasant and healthy indoor air The better a house is insulated the fewer the natural air changes. If this situation is not alleviated by controlled ventilation, harmful effects such as the growth of mould and a rise in concentrations of pollutants could result. Experts recommend that about 40 % of the indoor air should be replaced every hour throughout an average day. Most people simply do not have the time to manage that. The solution: automatic ventilation units. If it remains in the rooms themselves, it can collect as condensation on windows and walls, providing perfect conditions for mould. This poses a risk, not only to the building, but also to the health of its residents. People with allergies will be pleased to know that fully automatic ventilation units have special filters which keep pollen and dust outside. Fresh air for healthy living Fully automatic ventilation adjusts the supply of fresh air automatically according to actual humidity levels, while recovering up to 90 % of the heat that is otherwise lost through ventilation. Domestic ventilation a vicious cycle Ventilation Sealed rooms require regular supplies of fresh air. The hourly minimum air change required is 0.4-times the room volume. Energy consumption Ventilation results in the loss of approx. 50 % of the heating energy through windows and infiltration. It is just like throwing money out of the window! Mould Lack of ventilation increases the relative humidity indoors. The result is moisture damage and mould growth. Air tight buildings A tight building envelope and closely sealed windows reduce heating bills, but also greatly reduce air change rates.

6 Centralised ventilation: For a fresh ambience throughout With centralised ventilation, a single unit handles the supply and extraction of air to/from the interior via a comprehensive ventilation system. The ventilation ducts required for this can be let into walls, concrete or suspended ceilings, the floor, or placed under a screed layer even in the open. This option is therefore particularly appropriate for new build and for comprehensive modernisation projects. Its major advantage lies in the uniform fresh air quality it delivers throughout the entire building. The energy recovered from the extract air can be used to heat the supply air. 7 Ventilation units Centralised and decentralised extractors: Well placed low cost ventilation Centralised extractors are also suitable for existing buildings. The construction work required is considerably reduced because one centralised unit extracts the air, whilst fresh air is supplied through decentralised supply air valves and exterior wall outlets. The energy recovered from the extract air is used for central heating or for domestic hot water heating. Decentralised air extraction is especially suitable in the case of renovations or where there are localised humidity problems. The installation work required is usually minimal. Individual units work independently of one another to extract air from rooms where humidity is critical, such as bathrooms and kitchens. Have we sparked your interest? 12 LWZ 100 The compact LWZ 100 ventilation unit achieves excellent ventilation quality and requires relatively little construction work. It is just as suitable for passive houses as it is for apartment buildings and detached houses with accommodation of up to 100 m². 13 Ventilation units LWA 100 The wall mounted LWA 100 is an excellent option for apartments. This compact unit can also be integrated into existing apartments very easily. It ensures a sufficient supply of fresh air regardless of the tenant s ventilation pattern. 16 LA 60 A U The LA 60 ventilation unit solves humidity problems on the spot. Controlled via an integral humidity sensor, the unit ventilates the room, adjusting the flow rate according to demand, and dehumidifying as it does so. It is also particularly easy to operate. It also indicates when a filter needs changing. Suitable for LWZ and LWZ 370. Automatic ventilation control included The FEQ can also adjust the fan stage automatically subject to the prevailing air quality. Filter changes are indicated depending on the hours run. With little installation work, ventilation ducts reach every room and can be hidden in the insulation layer between the concrete floor and screed.
