3 Aalborg Portland - a leading global building material supplier Cement and concrete are the building materials of today - and of the future: an indispensable element when we wish to continue development of society. Aalborg Portland develops, produces, distributes and markets a wide range of white and grey cements and ready-mixed concrete. Aalborg Portland is the world s largest producer and exporter of white cement with a total annual capacity of 2.4 mio tonnes which will be expanded significantly over the coming years. We produce the cement at our plants in Denmark, Egypt, Malaysia, China and USA. Aalborg Portland in Denmark fully utilises its annual production capacity of 2.2 mio tonnes grey cement sold in Scandinavian countries, included Iceland with its own sales and distribution company. With total production of approximately 3 mio m3 ready mixed concrete, Aalborg Portland is market leader in Scandinavia with sale and distribution to approximately 20,000 customers through the Unicon company. Furthermore, more than 3 mio tonnes of aggregates are sold from quarries and pits in Sweden and Denmark. Cement sales and distribution companies are found in Russia, Poland, Germany, Italy and Australia, in addition to domestic sales and distribution facilities in Denmark, Egypt, Malaysia, China and USA.

5 Product areas Grey Cement Aalborg Portland is the only cement producer in Denmark and the market leader on the domestic market. Our vision is to be the preferred supplier of cement related products and solutions in Northern Europe - thus creating the foundation for attractive and sustainable building activities. We primarily sell and distribute different kinds of grey cement in Scandinavia, Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Due to product development, and continuous development and investments, Aalborg Portland has an effective and technologically advanced plant in Aalborg, Denmark where competent employees work to produce cement of the highest quality. White Cement We produce Aalborg White cement in Denmark and at our international production plants. Aalborg Portland will in the years to come expand its international position as the world s largest producer and distributor of white cement. This will be achieved by expanding - more than doubling - our annual capacity in Egypt to 1.1 mio tonnes, just as the strategic development will continue on establishment of local production and sales companies on emerging markets. In the years to come we will continue giving high priority to innovation activities which support and expand the market for white cement internationally.

6 Product areas Ready mixed concrete Through the company Unicon we develop, produce, sell and distribute ready mixed concrete in Scandinavia. Aalborg Portland is the largest producer of ready mixed concrete in Scandinavia with many production units, producing in total approximately 3 mio m3 of concrete annually. Furthermore, more than 3 mio tonnes of aggregates are sold from quarries and pits in Sweden and Denmark. Aalborg Portland has chosen to utilise the extensive experience base, which is available in the ready mixed concrete companies, to create one market oriented industrialised company, Unicon. This ensures that no matter where the customers are located, they will experience Unicon as a uniform and high quality producer of ready mixed concrete, which produces and distributes its products in the most cost efficient way. Ready mixed concrete and cement are produced at highly advanced production plants, and we carry out intensive research into improvement of our product properties and improvements in terms of the environment and energy.

7 Innovation and environmental responsibility Innovation lays the foundation for growth Aalborg Portland sees innovation as a key in our efforts to create value for our customers and grow our business. We see innovation as a holistic process, involving the whole life-cycle from sustainable use of raw materials and CO2 neutral fuels, over energy efficient cement production, to the use of concrete in attractive buildings and structures. Together with our customers, we challenge the potential of cement and concrete to develop the sustainable, strong, durable and aesthetically pleasing building materials of the future. Research and development create visible results Our innovation is founded on solid research and development projects with clearly defined goals. Our efforts aim to: Develop new products and processes, which significantly reduce energy consumption and CO2 and NOx emissions from the production and use of cement and concrete. Grow our production and increase the value of our products to the customers. Enable the construction of attractive and durable concrete buildings and structures in a sustainable and cost-effective manner. which take place on the finest scale below 200 nanometres. Nanotechnology will develop the cement of the future. Aalborg Portland leads a project, which under the name of FUTURECEM will both develop new cement types with 30% reduced CO2 emission and new nano particles,which can be used to improve the properties of cement and concrete. Nanotechnology is also used to develop attractive and durable concrete. Concrete will be made more resistant to dirt, growths and weathering by using nanotechnology. This technology is of particular relevance to white concrete surfaces, where the aesthetic appearance is of paramount importance. FUTURECEM and other strategic innovation projects enable Aalborg Portland to maintain a leading technological position, ensuring continuing growth within cement and ready-mixed concrete. Aalborg Portland participates in the European NANOCEM network for basic research in cementitious materials and cooperates with leading universities around the world with its staff of highly skilled researchers. Using nanotechnology to develop the cement and concrete of the future, nanotechnology deals with understanding and controlling the basic structures and processes of materials,

Employee s competencies A fundamental condition for developing Aalborg Portland is to know where you are coming from and where you are going. Therefore, Aalborg Portland continuously measures the individual employee s competencies and achievement of results in view of the future goals. In this way our development activities are currently adapted in order to ensure that the targets are reached successfully. We call it Linking strategy, people & performance. Therefore, Aalborg Portland is actively working on ensuring that all employees have good and motivating working conditions and at the same time we make room for creation of new competencies through management training, talent development and new employments. Efficient management Aalborg Portland s organisational and personnel policy depends on efficient management as well as employees at all levels who are motivated and capable of acting on their own initiatives. The foundation has been laid, and the capability to handle future challenges will currently be maintained and expanded. Developing internationally Aalborg Portland is expanding internationally. The retention of existing and the addition of further competencies are essential for the continuity and the strategic targets of the years to come.

9 Results Aalborg Portland had in 2007 a net turnover of approximately EURm 660 and employs around 2,000 employees worldwide. The development in Aalborg Portland results is satisfactory with significant progress in sales and earnings.
