Consultation Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays 1-3pm Course Description The philosophy, history, major concepts and current problems and issues in rehabilitation. Types of rehabilitation and importance of rehabilitation. Course Justification People who need rehabilitation are many, they need to be helped in developing appropriate skills and potentials just as the so called normal people. Hence, there is the dire need for those entering the helping relationship to acquire basic knowledge, which will make them develop the right frame of mind in order to help in rehabilitating those in need. Course Objectives At the end of the course, students should be able to: - Explain the philosophy and the basic principles of rehabilitation - Give a brief historical background to rehabilitation - Give details of major concepts in rehabilitation - Discuss problems and issues in rehabilitation - Identify the types of rehabilitation. 1 P a g e

Attendance at lectures is compulsory. At least 75% attendance record is mandatory for a student to be qualified to sit for the examination at the end of the semester.
