3 PRESENTATION Sono-Elastography is an ultrasound imaging technique able to assess the elasticity of tissues. When a discrete hard inhomogeneity is present within a region of soft tissue, a decrease in the vibration amplitude will occur at its location. This forms the basis for pathology detection using Sono-Elastography. This 2nd edition of the meeting has been approved as Euroson School and is designed to address the most important topics on Sono-Elastography such as physical basis, actual clinical applications, and future perspective. The actual general experience on Sono-Elastography is still limited, thus we build the meeting as an occasion to share knowledge. On other hand, Sono-Elastography adds specific valuable information in the study of all organs, potentially resulting to a virtual biopsy. Hands-on training sessions with several US systems used for different clinical settings are the backbone of the meeting. Examinations will be performed using also phantoms specifically made for that purpose by the Dept. of Clinical Engineers of Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico S. Matteo. This edition of the Sono-Elastography Euroson School presents, judges and illuminates the recent technological advance in this field. The goal of this Euroson School is to analyze the clinical applications of Sono-elastography with speakers coming from different countries and with the participation of the companies that are implementing this new technique in the ultrasound systems. We welcome you in this meeting of physicians and biomedical engineers who combine their knowledge and experience in the innovations of US. According to the criteria of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME- UEMS) there will be n. REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS The registration form is also available at: In order to make the registration, you must fill in the form and send it, together with the payment of the fee, to the Organizing Secretariat. No registrations will be made without payment of the registration fee. The Organizing Secretariat will inform the participant about the registration. REQUEST FOR EXEMPTIONS FROM VAT (Art. 10 Paragraph 20 D.P.R. 637/72) Public institutions requesting exemption from VAT on the payment of registration fees for their staff must tick the appropriate space on the registration form and stamp it with their official stamp mark. Requests without an institutional stamp mark cannot be accepted. It is not possible to ask for a reimbursement of VAT and relative accreditation notes once payment has been made. For administrative reasons, registration forms accompanied by errors in registration fees or without the required information will not be validated. CANCELLATIONS The Organizing Secretariat must be informed in writing of any cancellations. Eighty percent of the sum paid will be refunded for cancellations made before July 27th, No money will be refunded for cancellations made after that date. 9

From Linate Airport, Migliavacca bus line provides a transfer service to San Matteo Hospital - bus stop "Viale Golgi" (See the timetable). From Malpensa Airport you can take Malpensa Shuttle to Milan "Stazione Centrale" and then take a train to Pavia (See Trenitalia website). From Orio al Serio International Airport you can take a bus to Milan Stazione Centrale and then take a train to Pavia (See Trenitalia website). By train Pavia is about 30 minutes from Milan on the railway line connecting it to Genova. To learn more about railway service, you can visit Trenitalia website. When you arrive in Pavia, you can reach San Matteo Hospital on foot (about 15 minutes walking), by bus (No. 3 and No. 7), or by taxi. By car Milano - Genova motorway Pavia is on the A7 motorway, 35 kilometres south from Milan. To reach San Matteo Hospital come off at Pavia Nord- Bereguardo exit, and take the motorway junction A53 to the exit Pavia Ospedali. Torino Piacenza motorway To reach Pavia you can also drive the A21 motorway, come off at the exit Casteggio Casatisma and take SS35 Statale dei Giovi to Pavia. Once you are in Pavia you can follow the signs to "Ospedale San Matteo".
