2 Breezway Philosophy At Breezway we believe buildings should be designed to work with nature. Our Altair Louvres are a highly flexible way to complement passive design principles. In particular our louvres give designers the flexibility to change the philosophy of commercial building designs with fixed lite windows that require the full time running of air conditioning. Our Altair Louvres allow air conditioning to be turned off while relying on fresh air and breezes to ventilate and cool the building. It s a simple change in philosophy but one that can bring about significant change. By placing Altair Louvres on internal walls, fresh air can further ventilate throughout the interior of the building, whilst providing a connection to the outside environment to enhance the occupant s daily experience with the space. 4 Technical Data High Durability Finishes Breezway has an onsite powder-coating line that is certified by Dulux to apply Duralloy and Duratec powders and by Akzo Nobel to apply Interpon D1000 and Interpon D2010 powders. Seven and ten year warranties are offered on these products. Fully Energy Rated Energy ratings for Breezway Window Systems with a wide variety of glazing options are publicly available from the WERS website ( Breezway Louvre Windows with glass blades can achieve U-values as low as 4.4 and SHGCs from 0.32 up to A research report commissioned by Breezway shows that Easyscreen Louvre Windows with Western Red Cedar Blades have a U-value of 4.4 and a SHGC of 0.1. (While these results are suitable for comparison with ratings in the WERS database, they are not authorised WERS ratings). Acoustic Insulation Ratings Testing shows that Altair Louvre Windows achieve STC ratings of when toughened glass blades are installed. This is comparable to the acoustic properties of some double glazed windows. Design Manual The Breezway Louvre Window Design Manual includes all the information needed to specify Altair Louvre Windows. Contact Breezway for a copy or download it from the Breezway website. Also available on the Breezway website are recommended specifications and NATSPEC specifications along with CAD drawings and REVIT models.
