CMRL has proposed to construct two corridors of total length of 45.1 kms and out of which 24 kms are in underground and rest are in elevated. (hereinafter referred to as Almondz for the sake of brevity) has been appointed as Insurance Consultant / Brokers by CMRL to assist them in designing and securing the relevant cover. Almondz Insurance Brokers Private Limited, in it s capacity of being appointed as Insurance Consultant / Brokers to CMRL, hereby invite sealed tenders from General Insurance Companies in India to provide us with your quotations for the Commercial General Liability Cover for the CMRL Project for the period 12 months from 09-Nov to 08-Nov We enclose herewith a complete set of tender documents to enable you to submit your most competitive rates and terms. We would request you to submit the quote latest by 1400 hrs on The Bid shall be opened at 15:00 hrs on the same day in presence of tenderers who may like to be present at that time. Bidders may be called for discussions, if required. CMRL reserves the right, if required, based on the discussions, if any, and call for revised Price Bid. CMRL will be holding a Pre-bid meeting with all the Underwriters on at 2:00 pm at CMRL office. The bidders are also to note the following: a) The rates should be quoted net of the discounts and exclusive of service tax. The quote shall be in INR, both in figures & words. The quote in words will prevail for the final quoted price b) No subsequent increase in premium rates will be allowed under any circumstances. c) Secrecy of CMRL information/documents has to be ensured at all times. d) The offer of the Bidders shall have to be kept valid for a period of 120 days from the last date of opening of Price Bids. 5 INSTRUCTIONS TO TENDERERS 1. This tender, shall be duly signed & stamped on each page and sent in a sealed covers. 2. The tender should be submitted in sealed cover for Techno-commercial/price Bids with the following marking: BID FOR COMMERCIAL GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE 3. BID SUBMISSION The tender shall be submitted at the following address on or before 14:00 Hrs of General Manager Finance & Company Secretary Chennai Metro Rail Limited Harini Towers No.7, Conron Smith Road Gopalapuram, Chennai Ph: Tenders shall be opened at the time and date as specified in the tender notice in the presence of such of those Underwriters or their authorized representatives who may choose to be present. 5. The servicing of the insurance including claims by the successful bidder shall be handled through M/s. Almondz Insurance Brokers Private Limited. 6. Underwriters must fill up all the schedules and furnish all the required information as per the instructions given in various sections of the tender specification, failing which tender is liable to be rejected. 7. Bidders should note that the total price indicated shall be considered for Price Evaluation purpose and hence should be complete in all respect for the full scope defined and considering all terms and conditions. The quote shall be in INR, both in figures & words. The quote in words will prevail for the final quoted price

6 8. All corrections and insertions shall be duly counter-signed by the authorized signatory of the underwriter. 9. The selected Underwriter will be liable to meet all requirements of the Regulator (IRDA) inclusive of penalties / payment of difference in premium arising out of violations (if any), committed by the Underwriter prior to / during / after the commencement / expiry of coverage of risk under this Policy Contract and CMRL in no way will be responsible for such violations. 10. CMRL reserves the right to award the insurance contract to the L1 bidder and also reserves the right to negotiate the rates, terms and other conditions with the L1 bidder. 11. Quotes submitted by the insurance companies shall be with their Gross Automatic Capacity (without support on Facultative basis) and this should be indicated in the Bid. 12. Deviations if any should be indicated in Schedule I with the additional cost if applicable. Acceptance / rejection of the deviation will be fully at the discretion of CMRL. 13. CMRL reserves the right to add / delete any sections of coverage or change the values & periods without assigning any reasons at any point of time before award of the insurance contract. 14. Validity of offer: The offer submitted by the underwriter shall be kept valid for acceptance for a period of 120 days from the date of opening of price bid. 15. The successful bidder shall also submit original tender document duly signed and returned as a token of acceptance of tender conditions subject to technical deviation mutually agreed between CMRL and successful bidder. 16. Prebid meeting will be held on 21/10/2013 at CMRL Office at 2 pm. Queries may be sent in advance or submitted in meeting on 21/10/2013. Replies to prebid queries will be sent by 23/10/2013. Only authorized representative of companies who have purchased bid document shall be allowed to participate.

10 EXPECTED RIDERSHIP (From the Phase-I Operational Part) The trains that are used for Stage-I operations will have 4 coaches. The daily Ridership is expected to be 36,500 for Stage I, 60,000 for State-I A and 6,65,000 for Phase I (on an average). However, this Ridership figure indicates number of passenger trips and not the actual number of persons travelling in the section. The trains are scheduled at an average of 6 mins upto 2014 and 4.5 mins from 2015 and the ridership is spread over 19 hours ( 5.00 to 24.00). The average number of passenger per train is estimated at 80 persons for Stage I and 520 persons for Phase I. Maximum number of passengers travelling per train at any point of time is 150 for Stage I and 1045 for Phase I. CLAIMS EXPERIENCE Nil
