3 Updating Handheld Tool (HHT) itself (firmware) Switch off HHT, if it was on before First, connect the USB-cable with the computer Then, connect HHT with USB cable while pressing ESC on HHT If HHT screen switches on (empty screen), release ESC Wait, while PC loads driver for HHT and assigns a drive letter for this device and remember this letter Remark: If you connect the HHT the first time with the computer, it can take some minutes. If driver installation failed, connect HHT with an other USB-Port and wait until device is installed. Open the HHT as a drive with your file explorer. Name of the drive is TPM-02 Delete the file firmware.bin from HHT-drive Copy the new firmware (current one 370_R.bin) for the HHT to this drive Go to USB save remove button Disconnect HHT from PC, HHT gets switch off. and remove TPM-02 drive Mandatory step: Switch on HHT again, and check in Setup/Release if SW-update was successful: You should see: FW Version: 3.70 If update was not successful, repeat the whole process again. 4 Updating memory-card content on HHT - Propose This process transfers the following CPC component software on the memory card of the HHT: CCU: Central Control Unit (TRUCK / BUS as well as TRAILER) DSP: Display CSW: Component inside CCU-TRAILER, to control the pressure check indicator (warning lamp) Additionally, the following folders will be transferred: LANGUAGE folder: contains 17 languages CONFIG folder , Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH, 4 T:\ITS-Truck\Markets\_general\SW-update_CCU-DSP-CSW\Instructions delivery-overview \HHT_Update_Pro

5 Updating memory-card content on HHT - Unzip File If download of zip-file was blocked by fire-wall / virus scanner Download the.zi1 file After successful download change (rename) extension of downloaded file from.zi1 to.zip Unzip the file CPC-Update_yyyy-mm-dd.zip to an empty temporary folder Use conti as password for unzipping. It is mandatory to unzip (extract) this file. Don t start CPC-Update_for_HHT.vbs within the zip-file. 7 Updating memory-card content on HHT - Data Transfer to HHT Connect HHT with USB cable to PC (but don t press any key at the same time!) Wait, while PC loads driver for HHT and assigns a drive letter for this device and remember this letter Remark: If you connect the HHT the first time with the computer, it can take some minutes. If driver installation failed, connect HHT with an other USB-Port and wait until device is installed. The name of the HHT-drive can be CPC-MEM or no name In HHT, go to menu Diagnosis / Connection to PC (compare chapter 7.2). You should then see this sign on the HHT-screen. Start file CPC-Update_for_HHT.vbs in the temporary folder, not within the zip-file. Follow the instructions of this program until you see a screen like this one Current SW on HHT is now: Remark: When the drive was chosen by pressing OK it can takes some seconds until this messages appears.
