Instructor ofthe following courses at GMU: EDSE 553: Mathematics for Students with Special Needs: This class was part ofour combined teacher licensure and master's degree in education program that was designed to provide foture teachers with expertise and competencies for designing and implementing math instruction for students with learning and emotional disabilities in kindergarten through grade 12. EDSE 590: Research in Special Education: I developed this class as part ofa revised program in special education that is a requirement for the master's degree in special education. The intent of the class is to provide our masters' students with basic research design, development, analysis, and interpretation skills. Students are exposed to the statistical package, SPSS, the GMU online survey software program and learn how to complete basic data analyses. EDSE 655: Curriculum and Methods: Emotional DisturbanceslLeaming Disabilities: This class was part ofour previous special education teacher licensure program that presented content on teaching all methods and materials for instructing students with learning and emotional disabilities at the elementary age levels. This was a very hand-on class with applied classroom activities. EDSE 600: The Inclusive Classroom: I was asked to develop and implement this class for Fairfax County Public Schools andfor their target audience ofteachers and administrators who worked with students with disabilities, but did not have any previous university classes or background in understanding or working with students with disabilities. EDSE 790: Internship: This class is a requirement ofour teacher licensure programs and consists ofsupervising students during their internships which are in the local public schools. EDSE 841: Seminar in Special Education: Intervention Research. This class was developed as part ofthe doctoral leadership grant that I co-direct. When I teach the class, I vary major assignments, but the overall goal remains to learn intervention research in special education, analyze, describe and synthesize special education intervention research.
