Most of world s talent pool, however, still resides in US, Europe and Japan. Exporting expatriates developing world Many multinational companies do this but cost is high tal compensation package of an expatriate in India can easily reach $ 500,000 annually and politics put pressure on companies replace expatriates with local managers. 2. Train students from developing world in developed countries. The problem with this path is that a substantial proportion of students choose not return ir countries adding brain drain. 3. Foster growth of local management schools. This alone ensures that year after year locally trained managers of steadily increasing quality meet demands of ir growing economies. Capacity building is unpopular with aid agencies and most philanthropic institutions because it requires a long-haul effort whose benefits more effective companies and or organizations, more jobs are difficult measure. 5 What Does GBSN Do? It encourages collaboration in all directions between faculty in both North and South so that schools at different stages of development can learn from one anor. It transfers knowledge and best practices by way of webinars and or media. It designs and implements capacity-building programs. In Pakistan, GBSN helped an industrial group establish a high-quality business school from scratch; it achieved this in two years, thanks an extraordinary advisory group drawn from schools as diverse as MIT-Sloan, INSEAD, Babson, and ors In Nigeria, GBSN helped develop a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management, bringing ger faculty of Pan-African University, Wharn, Darden and ors; that Certificate became a model for Goldman Sachs s 10,000 Women program. Toger with Nairobi s Chandaria School of Business, GBSN helped create local teaching cases relevant Kenyan agri-business operars, bringing in menrs from IMD and or p schools.
