4 What is the GICTF (2/2) Objectives: Making alliance between industry, government and academia Promoting open inter-cloud-system linkage interface Liaison i between Japanese and related overseas bodies leads to broad use Members: 70 companies, 3 bodies, influential individuals (university professors etc.), MIC as observer * NTT, KDDI, NEC, Hitachi, Fujitsu, IBM, Oracle, Cisco, IIJ, BIGLOBE, VMWare, NICT, NII, etc. Activities: Gathering information on secure inter-cloud system technology applicable to e-government system Standardization of inter-cloud-system linkage interface Compiling white papers on inter-cloud use case and functional requirements Promotions (presentations, seminars) Government ministries involved (MIC, Smart Cloud Study Group, etc.) (related overseas bodies etc.) OGF, OMG, SNIA, DMTF, CCIF, OCC, CSA, OASIS, ETSI, NIST, etc. Public comment Proposals of techniques ASP/SaaS data center Application Service Provider Industry Consortium (ASPIC) Information exchange Policies GICTF Information exchange Proposal of the results, liaisoni Standardization bodies etc. Proposal of results Reporting of study results Related Japanese bodies etc. New Generation Network Promotion Forum (NWGN), etc. Domestic/international academy, symposium, workshop, study group, etc. 3
5 GICTF s Past Cloud Activities Inter-cloud federation use cases QoS and SLA to be considered in intercloud federation 1. Scale-out through cloud federation (cloud bursting) 2. Mutual backup and recovery from a disaster through cloud federation 3. Porting of services to other cloud providers 4. Service interworking through the simultaneous use of multiple clouds etc. 1. QoS and SLA items to be guaranteed end-to-end (totality of server, storage and network) 2.
