1 Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) First! If you plan to enroll in a part time/full time accredited two or four year program, it is important that you complete your FAFSA. Completing your FAFSA determines your eligibility to receive federal funding based on your income, or if you're a dependent, your family's. The more money you or your parents make, the less federal funding is available. Your university/college will require you to complete the FAFSA to determine what federal, state, or college aid you're eligible to receive. Based on your Student Aid Report (SAR) you are offered federal grants and loans to assist you financially. Most scholarship organizations, but not all, require you to submit your SAR which you will receive after completing your FAFSA. This allows them to see what federal money is available and what type of financial need you are in. Complete your FAFSA the beginning of each year. Deadline is June 30. Apply for federal aid online: Career Pathways Program **Tribal members and shareholders should contact their councils for funding opportunities** The following is a resource list that contains regional, statewide, and national organizations that provide funding for higher education or vocational/technical training.
