Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services provides some of the county s premier regional services throughout the Salt Lake community. Our mission at Aging and Adult Services is to promote independence of aging generations through advocacy, engagement and access to resources. Rides can be scheduled up to one week in advance for life essential destinations such as doctor appointments, prescription pick-ups, physical therapy, and visits to a loved one in a care facility. 168 Senior Health Insurance Program Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services Senior Health Insurance Information Program is a free service that provides Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries and their families with information about health care benefits. MEDICARE: A health insurance program for people age 65 and older. It is also available for some people with disabilities under age 65 and people with end stage renal disease or Lou Gehrig s disease. You may apply for Medicare at your local Social Security office. Call or go to Part A (Hospital Insurance): Most people automatically get Part A coverage without having to pay a monthly premium. Part A helps cover your inpatient care in hospitals. This includes critical access hospitals and skilled nursing facilities (not custodial or longterm care).
