9 Challenges of SharePoint 2007 Backup/Restore Recycle Bin Only covers somewhere between 40-60% of basic restoration scenarios Lack of search capabilities Limited timeframe for restores Restores have to be in the context of their deletes i.e. if you delete a document library you have to restore the document library, not just the files within No access if the SharePoint server is down

17 Conclusion Extremely difficult to meet SLAs for SharePoint backup and restore in SharePoint 2003 While improved, SharePoint 2007 still does not meet most requirements for enterprise s to meet or exceed their SLAs for SharePoint backup and restore Recovery Manager for SharePoint and LiteSpeed for SQL Server are the perfect products to exceed SLA requirements for SharePoint backup and restore
