ADMISSIONS JULY Introduction: Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) is a state-private university constituted by Gujarat Act No. 8 of 2009 and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC Public Notice dated ). It is located at Changa (near Nadiad and Anand) in a 105 acre lush-green sprawling campus. CHARUSAT offers 50 Undergraduate, Postgraduate. and Ph. D. programmes in Engineering, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, Management, Applied Sciences, Physiotherapy and Nursing. The campus was established in 2000 by socio-educational trust, Shri Charotar Moti Sattavis Patidar Kelavani Mandal, Anand for providing global level professional education at rural doorsteps. Research and Innovation is considered an impetus of growth and development at CHARUSAT. The Ph. D. programme is a manifestation of this. The university provides a vibrant research environment supported by highly qualified faculty members, excellent infrastructure and state-of-art facilities. The campus is Wi-Fi with high-speed internet. The library has over 50,000 books, journals, and access to over 800 E-journals. 3 Research Scholars: Research Scholars will be admitted to Ph. D. programme either on Full-time or Part-time basis. Eligibility: A person will be eligible for the Ph. D. programme only if the following criteria are satisfied: (a) A post-graduate (Masters) degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA and (b) Has qualified in National level examinations such as GATE / CSIR UGC JRF / NET / SLET / GPAT or latest CHARUSAT Doctoral Entrance Test (CDET). Eligible Candidates will be short-listed based on the above criteria. Selection Procedure: Short-listed candidates will be personally interviewed. Candidates will have to make a presentation (PPT) of their proposed Research work for 15 minutes. Course: The complete Ph. D. programme will be of minimum 3 years and maximum 7 years. Every Research Scholar has to undertake at least two courses and a credit seminar (total of minimum 10 credits). This course work including seminar will have to be completed by the first year. Only after successful completion of seminar and the course work, the registration for Ph.D. will be confirmed. Residential requirement: A Full-time Research Scholar will have to stay and work in the CHARUSAT Campus during the tenure of the Ph. D. programme. A Part-time Research Scholar has to stay for at-least 90 days in campus during the tenure of Ph. D. programme. Course fees: Rs. 60,000 per year for the duration of programme. CHARUSAT DOCTORAL ENTRANCE TEST 2014 (1) : One hour examination with multiple choice questions in respective subjects. Page 3 of 5
