1 IVMS4200 Client Software Quick reference manual 1. Add DVR s & IP cameras using the Import camera tab 2. Select add Device tab, the add device dialog box will then appear 3. add DVR information Opens add device dialog box to allow editing of DVR info Deletes the DVR/ip cam from IVMS4200 software Refreshes or searches for the DVR/ip camera again Exports the camera to group Accesses DVR configuration settings and allows editing Opens or folds the thumbnail images of DVR,s cameras Easily import/export all the DVR,s and cameras on this software, making reloading or adding IVMS4200 to another PC very easy When connected to the same local network as the DVR or IP camera, click on the Show on line devices button this will open the show on-line devices dialog box and display any Hikvision DVR or IP camera on the Network. Click on the required device and click the Select Device button. The information will automatically load into the add device dialog box This method also proves the DVR/IPcam is present on the Network Use the highlighted tools to add any camera to any group Nickname = anything you want to call the DVR Address = IP address of the DVR or IP camera Port number = DVR port (usually 8000) User name = admin (default) Password (default) Multicast = do not enter anything here Export to group This function must be done to allow the cameras to be visible in the Main(live) view screen You can group the cameras under the DVR Nickname (most common group) You can also manually create additional groups, then individually highlight any camera thumbnail image, and export it to the group of your choice. This allows you to group cameras from more than one DVR into a favourites group, This can be useful in the Live view screen as you can load all the favourite cameras at once by clicking on the group name Page 1

2 Main (live) view screen Drag & drop any camera into any window to start video stream Location of any backed up footage from DVR or ip camera Location of any captured still images Right click on DVR name to see tools Drag Expand & fold all reveal or hide camera list or only show DVR name headings (useful when large volume of DVRs are connected) Main and sub stream allow you to choose the resolution of the stream Main stream is ideal for local Network Sub steam is ideal over the internet where bandwidth is limited by the upload speed of your internet where DVR is installed You can set the sub stream speed to match your internet speed in the camera settings menu under video quality Drag to swap camera positions Right click on camera to see tools Open two way audio allows talkback to site when amplifier and speakers attached at DVR end Page layout selector Synchronize the DVR time with your PC time Record stream to computer Control steam type camera by camera Tool bar appears at the bottom of any camera you scroll over with mouse Capture still image Talkback to site Record stream Boarderless full screen (click Esc to return) instant PTZ control Camera/DVR settings access playback mode tool Digital zoom Camera info tool tool Stop video stream Start sequencing cameras Stop all camera streams Capture still image Select next camera set Start audio stream Open audio listen-in Alarm event logging instant event playback button DVR s can be remotely monitored allowing automatic audio/video alarms to be generated and logged by the viewer software. Instant playback of any event is possible by clicking on the play button on the event line Page 2

3 Playback & backup of video footage 1. Select window with mouse (highlight screen in yellow) 2. Select camera to playback 3. Select date from calender 4. Click search & time line appears Click on time line to playback You can use the event search tab found in the control panel tab to allow file lists to be created of motion or alarm triggering Use the download by time if you want to enter specific start & stop time for file Tick the individual files covering the time period required for backing up Click to synchronize playback of multiple cameras Select required month & year Select the date required (days with recording will display red tag in corner of day Pause Stop Speed down Speed up Frame by frame digital zoom Rec Capture image File backup Analytics & tag start & stop time for backup (some models not supported) Click file download button to open dialog box allowing you to copy footage at the fully recorded resolution and frame rate Use these controls to expand the time line, this can allow more accurate time selection & file separation when motion record is used Page 3

4 Playback of backed up files Search for you backed up files here Remember to set the date period to cover the date of backed up files (Default search is today s date only) Backup footage is found in this folder Backup screen captures are found in this folder Click on thumbnail to start playback Shows file location where download is saved File player can be downloaded as a separate download from our web site at any time File player can also be manually opened from the file tab at the top of the IVMS4200 software To find file location highlight thumbnail image and click save icon Dialog box opens showing files Drag the file from this box onto your desktop or other folder to quickly move the file or copy to USB stick etc Capture still image for printing Page 4

5 Advanced Pan Tilt & Zoom Control 3D PTZ control Activate the 3D control button then drag a box on the image The camera will move and zoom to the marked area Hikvision PTZ cameras are recommended for 3D control Most 3rd party Speed Domes do not support 3D control Drag mouse to move camera Scroll wheel to zoom You can drag this control panel to any position on screen Setting Patterns and Patrols Not all 3rd party PTZ cameras fully support Patterns & Patrols Hikvision PTZ cameras are recommended Click on Joy stick icon to open floating PTZ control panel Easy Preset position creation and call 1.Click on a unused preset number 2. Move the camera to the position you want it to remember 3. Click pecil icon to open dialog box, enter a name for preset 4. click on the required preset to call it at any time Click here to run a pattern or Patrol Page 5

6 Camera and DVR configuration and settings adjustments Full Technical manual PDF is available by clicking on help tab Choose a camera you want to edit settings before commencing Low Middle & High sets the bandwidth to preset values This affects the quality of the recorded image when adjusting Main Stream Advanced settings allow you to manually set the stream quality Set the image size in pixels, this setting changes the quality of the recorded images when adjusting Main stream 4CIF 704 x 575 pixels (PAL) is the max size for Standard Analogue SDI DVR,s Higher resolutions can be achieved by using HD-SDI & IP cameras & NVR,s Main Stream is the recording stream, whatever you set here is the resolution the DVR is recording. Sub Stream is a second stream used for viewing over the internet ware bandwidth is limited You can select Sub Stream in the Main view Tab to make the video stream more fluid and to allow multiple cameras to be viewed without stalling the stream Select the icon here to enter the menu you require edit You must save any changes before leaving this page or they will not take effect Additional DVR/NVR parameter setting You can copy the settings changes to other cameras on the same DVR here Stream Type sets Video or use Audio/Video if you have Mic fitted You can choose fixed or variable bit rate Max Bitrate adjusts the bandwidth allowance of each camera Frame rate adjusts the number of frames/second if the stream stalls reduce this rate to make the stream more fluid When Configuring Sub Stream the settings shown here are often found to be the optimum when upload speed of the site internet service is between 500kb & 1 megabyte/second Page 6

7 If you cannot see the tab you are looking for all tabs are visible in the View folder IVMS4200 easy navigation & additional features Control Panel tab displays short-cuts to all IVMS functions Two level e-maps allow you to display system locations on main map, then click on system location to display an e-map of the site with floating images for each camera position Page 7
