4 Carrier Platform Scalable, high availability carrier inter-working Our Carrier Platform is based on the VoIP Peering Session Border Controller, a distinct component specifically designed to support the VoIP Peering application. Incorporating flexible carrier integration based on SIP, SIP-T and H.323, as well DTMF inter-working and dynamic transcoding, the DIGITALK Session Border Controller maximises both customer and supplier opportunities. Service providers can establish multiple services with distinct destinations, rates and quality to meet specific customer requirements. Our Carrier Platform ensures full visibility of traffic, revenues and margins, plus the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues from high level performance metrics right down to the protocol exchange. 5 Case Study Situation Based in Pakistan, the service provider is also active in the Asian sub-continent and the Gulf region, offering services ranging from calling cards and call shops to international terminations. Requirements By consolidating their infrastructure on a single vendor platform, to support both consumer and carrier services, the customer wanted to reduce their equipment, training and support costs across their operations. They also wanted to take full control of their carrier routing and termination agreements and decisions, having previously used hosted solutions to expand services. In addition, the service provider required a solution that would enable them to extend their service scope without having to introduce additional vendor equipment.
