3 Czech Republic Interior country in Central Europe, with 10,51 mil. residents An independent state since January 1993 after Czechoslovakia split into its two constituent parts Three historical territories: Bohemia, Moravia and Czech Silesia

4 Prague The capital and largest city with 1,3 mil. citizens Prague is more than years old and has a wealth of historical architecture of different styles Charles Bridge and Prague Castle Old Town Square Prague Astronomical Clock Wenceslas Square Waldstein Garden Petrin lookout tower

5 Agriculture The principal crops are grains (wheat, rye, barley, oats, and corn) There is a long tradition of brewing in the Czech Republic. After Germany, the Czech Republic is Europe's largest producer of hops. Wine is produced in the southern regions of Moravia and in part of Bohemia. A record 900 natural springs have also ensured that the country produces plenty of mineral water. Other important crops are poppy seeds, sugar beet and apples.
