5 OVERVIEW The School of Communication & Creative Arts (SCCA) provides a rich portfolio of interrelated programmes in a vibrant atmosphere of creativity, performance and production. The School brings together art, foreign languages, journalism, communication and music disciplines in programmes of study that allow students to unleash their creative talents; and to explore and develop their skills in the chosen course of study. The School offers a multidisciplinary approach that interfaces between theory and practice. This approach cultivates students with a comprehensive understanding of their fields of study and a sound appreciation for the diversity of the related professions. SCCA also enjoys strong ties with relevant industry networks, permitting SCCA students a range of opportunities for hands-on training and internships with strategic partners.

6 CAREER OPPORTUNITIES A degree in any of the SCCA s programmes of study will provide students with a sound foundation for a wide range of careers. SCCA graduates would have the option of entering the job market directly, entering professional certification programmes or continuing with graduate study from a variety of related fields and disciplines. SCCA graduates may be found in fields of print and broadcast journalism, marketing, education, tourism, banking and finance, international relations, visual and performance arts, graphic design, photography, film and a host of other areas. ALUMNI REFLECTIONS COB prepared me for the real world, and it was there that I found my voice. I wanted a full, well rounded experience, and before long, found myself engaged in pursuing the welfare of fellow collegiates, serving first as a Senator and ultimately as the Vice President of COBUS. I m telling you, I became the little train that really believed that I could achieve whatever it was that I set as a goal to achieve in a very real and tangible way. I found my true identity, and found that there were many who respected me for who I was, appreciating my unique differences and outlook on life. Hands down, I am proud to be a part of the COB alumni family! Rionda Godet Partner, Halsbury Chambers & Proprietor of Ridge Farms, Nature s Best! AA 1984
