12 1. Set up of the PI to PI collaboration An A*STAR and an EPFL researcher are interested to collaborate They set up a common project financed from their respective project portfolio They look at EPFL and/or at A*Star for candidates interested to join the A*STAR Lausanne Project (ALP)
13 2. Candidate selection A candidate from Singapore must apply for an A*star Graduate Scholarship (AGS). AGS candidate spend one year at A*STAR as trainee. The candidate (AGS or not) applies on line to an EPFL doctoral program (EDxx)

Doctoral studies The accepted candidate spends one year at EPFL till the candidacy exam The non AGS candidate applies for a A*STAR Research Attachment Program (ARAP) grant during the first year After the candidacy exam, the candidate spends two year in an A*STAR Research Institute The last year and the graduation are in EPFL
