Leader in Multiple Applications SunPower is Number 1: Residential Commercial Utility Project Largest Residential Partner Network in Australia. Best Award winning Commercial installation in Australia Largest Largest Utility install in Australia; W.A Pilbara region Multiple Awards 6
Global Presence Germany Switzerland Hawaii California New Jersey Spain Italy Singapore South Korea Philippines Regional HQ Australia Regional Office As the leader in delivering innovation and complete solar energy solutions to our customers, we work as a team to continually set new standards for systems performance, value, appearance and customer experience 7
CELL TECHNOLOGY
Revolutionary Cell Technology Achieving the highest efficiency AND energy production starts with SunPower s proprietary all-back contact solar cell design All-Back Side Contacts Front Side No Grid lines 9
SunPower s Cell Architecture No shading gridlines equal larger exposed surface for light capture. Wider and thicker electrical contacts deliver more current and voltage. Backside mirror reflects sunlight that has not yet been absorbed back into the cell. 10
SunPower Cells Lightly doped front diffusion Mirror Localised Junctions SunPower Solar Cell 24.2% efficiency Texture & anti-reflective coating (ARC) Backside Contacts N Type Silicon Passivation Layer Lightly doped front diffusion: Increase electricity capture within the cell Texture & antireflective coating (ARC): Improved refraction of light into cell. Passivation Layer: Increase electricity capture within the cell Backside contacts: Eliminate shadowing and high coverage metal reduces resistance loss Localised Junctions: Increased electricity capture within the cell Mirror: Backside mirror (reduces back light absorption and increases light trapping) 11
How SunPower Cells Achieve Record Efficiencies Lightly doped front diffusion Mirror Texture and ARC Back Contact Texture & anti-reflective coating (ARC) N Type Silicon Localised Junctions Front Contacts Aluminum Paste Passivation Layer Backside Contacts N-Type Junction P-Type Silicon 1. Maximum light capture - Up to 10% more sunlight on front surface 2. Reduced Resistive losses - Back contacts enable wider and thicker, lower resistance contacts 3. Minimum Recombination Loss - Passivating Silicon dioxide on front and back of cell minimizes recombination loss. 4. Maximum Absorption of Light - Back-side mirror gives photons a second chance to generate power. 12
No Light-Induced Degradation (LID) Power loss from crystalline module degradation causes a big headache for the industry. Conventional p-type silicon cells lose up to 3% of their power and production capability during their first few weeks of operation ( break-in period ). SunPower s n-type silicon solar cells have noloss of power due to LID. 13
More Light More Energy SunPower technology captures more light Premium, specially treated silicon No front gridlines nothing to block light Wide, thick metal contacts conduct more current Backside mirror reflects light back into the cell Captured light is converted into more energy Performs better in high and low temperatures Maintains performance level better over time Absorbs more colors in the spectrum Captures more sunlight in low-light conditions 14 14
High-Area Cells Higher Cell Boosts Efficiency, While Cost-Neutral at System Level The higher cell provides 3.2% more power at cell level and 2.5% more power at module level than the current dominant solar cell used in current SunPower products 3.2% more cell area Current Cell 300 Series Panels New Cell E19 Series Panels 15
AR Glass Features and Cosmetics AR glass cosmetics are slightly different from standard Non-AR glass From a distance AR glass modules have less glare, look darker and generally have a more appealing appearance. AR Glass Non-AR Glass AR Glass Non-AR Glass Care needs to be taken when handling AR glass! Gloves, care not to scratch, careful cleaning 16
AR Glass Efficiency and Yield Gains power (kwh/kwp) Total energy gain Module flash test data will see a gain at STC of ~2.5% Example: 303 watt module power with Non-AR glass will increase to watts with AR glass Once in field AR glass provides additional kwh/kwp benefits 17
Compatible Inverters SunPower modules require Positive earth connection Transformer inverter SMA SMC6000A positive earth kit Fronius Hard earth for IG Internal earth fuse for IG Plus Other transformer inverters not supported by SPAU Xantrex etc SB
TECHNOLOGY EFFICIENCY & ENERGY PRODUCTION
World Record Cell Efficiency SunPower s all-back contact solar cells achieve production efficiencies of 24.2% on average -- 50% more than conventional solar cells! SunPower Cell 24.2% Efficient Conventional Monocrystalline Cell 15% Efficient Conventional Multicrystalline Cell 14% Efficient 20

Power vs. Energy Power is a Rate Changes each moment with intensity of sunlight Watts(W) or kilo-watts(kw = 1000 W) not watts per hour, just watts Measures the size of the solar array Energy is an Amount Accumulates over time Watt-hours (Wh) or kilo-watthours (kwh = 1000 Wh) Determines your electric bill each month, and how much your solar system reduces that bill 32
