BEND SADDLERY Colonel Russell and I want to welcome you to our show and hope you will have a successful show. In the interest of the riders and the horses at our show and because of the scorching July temperatures, we will not hold up any class due to a rider and/or trainer conflict. If anyone anticipates a conflict, please speak to our paddock masters who will try to help you prevent a conflict. If they cannot help you, they will contact Colonel Russell or me. Good luck and happy showing. RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. ENTRIES. Entry fees must be paid or a blank check left with the show secretary before numbers will be issued. DISCLAIMER: The San Antonio Hunter & Jumper Charity Schooling Show, the San Antonio Rose Palace, and the Russell Equestrian Center will not be responsible for any accident which may occur to any rider, groom, attendant, animal, or equipment or for damage or loss of equipment. 3. STABLING AND SCHOOLING FEES. An open check must be left with the Secretary upon registration. Stabling will be available on Friday, February 20. Stall fee is $50 for the entire show. Stalls are 12x12 box stalls with doors. Shavings will be available for purchase on the grounds for $9.00 per bag. NO OUTSIDE SHAVINGS ALLOWED. Manure is to be disposed of in designated areas, not in trash containers. There will be a $35 grounds fee per horse not stabled on the show grounds. Arrivals before Friday or if staying Sunday after the show will be charged $40 per night 4. NON-SHOWING HORSES: Will be charged $35 schooling fee in addition to any stall fee or grounds fee. 5. OFFICE/MEDIC FEE: Will be charged $40 for each horse on the grounds both showing and non-showing. 6. SCHOOLING: From 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday. Other times TBA. HARD HATS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHEN MOUNTED. 7. CAMPERS/RV S. Limited camper/rv spaces are available for $40/ night. 8. ATTIRE. Riders must be properly attired. Protective headgear must be worn. Numbers must be worn and be clearly visible. All riders in hunter, hunter seat equitation and jumper classes where jumping is required and while jumping on competition grounds must wear ASTM/SEI approved helmets. Riding coats are not required. A polo shirt with a collar may be substituted for a riding shirt, however, T-SHIRTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. Boots and breeches must be worn when competing.
4 9. CHANGES. Management reserves the right to change, cancel, or combine classes, alter courses, and to do all things necessary to compensate for excessive or inadequate entries. 10. RESPONSIBILITY. Submission of an entry to show constitutes an agreement to the following: Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and hold the San Antonio Rose Palace and Horse Show Management harmless against any claims, demands, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, for the defense thereof, arising from the conduct of management of Exhibitor s business or its use of the premises or from any breach on the part of the Exhibitors of any conditions of this Agreement, or contractors or agents, employees, guests or invitees in or about the premises. In case of any action or proceeding brought against the San Antonio Rose Palace or management by reason of any such claim, Exhibitor, upon notice, covenants to defend such action or proceeding by counsel acceptable to owner. Exhibitor is responsible for security of his/her own property and the San Antonio Rose Palace is not responsible for accidents, fires, or theft. 11. WARNING. Under Texas Law (chapter 87, Civil Practice and Remedies Code), an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities. 12. DOGS. No dogs are allowed on the premises unless the owner is willing to keep the animal confined or on a leash AT ALL TIMES. A $200 FINE WILL BE IMPOSED. The owner risks the right to remain on the premises for the show. This rule will be strictly enforced. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. 13. HUNTER CLASSES. All classes will be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise noted. 14. Judges decisions are final. Any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or any show officials on the part of an owner, manager, trainer, coach, rider, or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his or her entry and other fees. This includes failure to keep dogs on a leash or otherwise confined. 15. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. In accordance with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES CAN BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PREMISES. FIREARMS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON LICENSED PREMISES. 16. FOOD/BEVERAGES. San Antonio Rose Palace exclusively operates these sales and services. The concession stand will not accept out-of-state checks or open tabs on out-of state checks. 17. RIDER AND TRAINER CONFLICTS. Riders and trainers who have conflicts because of classes in more than one ring at the same time, should see the paddock masters so that necessary adjustments can be made. Management reserves the right to close classes before all entries have ridden if it deems it necessary in order to run the show in a timely manner. 18. COGGINS TEST. In accordance with the requirements of the State of Texas, proof of a current (within the past year) Coggins test must be presented to the Show Secretary before numbers can be picked up. 19. Veterinarian and Farrier availability: A veterinarian and farrier will be on call. Their phone numbers will be posted in the show office. 20. STALL REFUNDS: Stall fees will be refunded if a horse or rider is unable to compete prior to the beginning of the show due to illness or injury. 21. BRAIDING: Braiding is not required. 22. PRIZES: Prize money to be deducted from bill. Trophy & 8 ribbons in each class. Trophy & 6 ribbons in Hunter Derby and Jumper Classic. Add Backs: Add back amount to be distributed as follows: 30%-22%-16%-14%-10%-8% $500 will be distributed: 1sr-$150 2 nd -$110 3 rd -$75 4 th -$65 5 th -$55 6 th -$45 Time TBA: Class 72 $500 Jumper Classic
